Carnut12
If you had $10k, what mods would you do??? I live down the street from Tasca and was thinking of a Whipple (Polished), CS69 Shelby wheels, and Brakes. Not sure what kind of brakes at this point. I almost did this a couple months back when I got my yearly bonus, but I paid of my Expedition instead. Anyway, if all goes as planned I should get a Mid-year bonus that should be around 10k after Taxes. I already got the wifes approval to use it on the Shelby. I want to see how the first couple weeks of May go to make sure I am getting it. My thinking is- Polished Whipple- around $7,000 CS69 20" Wheels- $1300 roughly on e-bay Tires- $1000 roughly Brakes- not sure maybe $1500 in the budget, can I get an upgrade for that much???????? Any other small stuff I am leaving out???????????

If it were MY $10,000.00, I'd drop the polished wipple and go with a standard and have that extra money to drop on brakes...You're gonna need them with the S/C But I REALLY want to know who it is that you work for getting that kind of bonus couple of times a year...do you need any help??? ShelbyPilot
I think you have good options there. That is the list I would go with. However, I think you might be short on the brake end. The lower end Baer GT-Plus system from Shelby is $2000 I believe. Maybe you can find a non Shelby package for less. You can install them yourself. The hardest part is bleeding the brakes. If you could afford it though I would go with the Extreme system if you want to keep it in the Shelby family or maybe go outside of the Shelby box (AP Racing, Wilwood, etc). Carnut12
I thought brakes would run more than that, I still have to look into them.
RogerS
Unless you are a clean freak...........don't get the polished Whipple. The Mat Black will run about $7200 loose your strut tower brace. The first stage Baer Shelby Brake kit will run about $2400 You can get your CS69's in 20" and BFG comp TA's for about $2200 Wheels from Michael Morris tires from Tire Rack. The polished Paxton will run about $6400 vs. the Whipple and you will still get to use your strut tower brace. It does look quite impressive installed. other stuff: Lower grill and fogs about $400 CS6 Hood $1700 Brake duct kit $500 Extreem Brake kit $4200 AP Brakes $5000 Pad, rotor, brake line upgrade $1000 or less It can get crazy. Good luck in your decision. Roger

Kelsey
Another idea on the brakes is a take off set from a GT500. I'm sure there's lots of em floating around now.

Yeah, I've been putting a potential mod list together for some time - but, I'm still 100% original and haven't taken the plunge on anything yet. I keep having to spend money on too many other priorities. If the brake cooling kit / grille ever come out, I'm going to ask for it for my birthday, maybe I'll get it that way.
