fastfords
O.K. this is the deal. I am picking up a 08' GT500 tomorrow. Red/Silver with nav and red interior. Long story short, I was supposed to pick up a 08' Z06 two weeks ago and backed out. Just could not write the check for so much money. I decided if I could get a GT500 for msrp I would. Not gonna happen in Phoenix. Was looking into buying and shipping in from out of state but I was able to work out a deal for a local car for the same without the hassle. I certainly hope this one lasts longer than the previous one. I am sure my insurance company hopes so as well. Will post up pics tomorrow night. Son of GT
I have looked at the car twice and did not actually read the sticker. I assume it is an 08. Hey FF, glad to see that this whole ordeal is now behind you, but I'm VERY GLAD that you decided to stay with the 500 and the Shelby family. Needless to say, please take every security precaution that you can to keep the scumbags away from your property, and I hope that one day justice will be served upon those who stole your car. 68fastback
Picked up the car today. For some reason the camera I used will not allow uploading of pics here. I guess you will all have to wait.. When you look at the filetype, see if it says "JPG", if the filetype is blank just edit the name of the file by adding ".jpg" (no space between existing name and ".jpg") and hit enter to register the name. "JPG" should now appear in the filetype (but not in the name) and you should be good to upload here. Some cameras format for jpg but leave the filetype unspecified and site doesn't know what to make of it. Hope that helps (if that was the problem). oilman
Glad to hear you went with the GT500, and ESPECIALLY red. Wish I had silver stripes on mine, like better than the white. stump_breaker
Congrats on the new car. You are about to find out that RED is the fastest colormichael morris Ok, lets put this color thing to rest right now. Psych 101. Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention. The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty You'll notice "orange" is not listed because orange is not a color. It's a fruit! mciarochi
I think it is excellent logic. White, being the lightest, is, well, we don't want to go there.... Just happy that Fastfords is back in the saddle. I'll bet he's the first guy ever to pick up a GT500 without reading the sticker. I guess when you're on your second you get jaded or something... I guess when you're on your second you get jaded or something... LOL, I was looking at three cars and trying to get dealers to get off the 5k over thing. I did know what the bottom line price was but not specific options. I did have another dealer at 1k over for another white/blue car but wanted something different. As many have stated, adm's still exist in some areas. Here there are about 10-12 cars in town. Most dealers do not have any. The ones that do are still willing to have them hold down the tile in the showroom. I could have purchased from another state and had it shipped but the end cost would have been the same as I paid without the ordeal of shipping. Just to put a smile on your face I will tell you that the additional sticker markup on the car I bought was $22,000 over msrp. Total was $69,800. Boy, they really came down on that one..... Car has nav, sirius sat., crimson interior, ambient lighting, hid headlights, and upgraded interior. I think the cover is the only option it does not have. Stripes are perfect (my other car had some blems I was considering having fixed). Trans seems to shift better and clutch seems better as well. Car was manufactured in Feb. of 08. I rearely ever do. No, I was driving the DD - 97 Honda Accord at the time. However, the Shelby did came out later. I rarely see these on the road but I have been seeing more GT500s at the Saturday car show at the Safeway on 83rd. Yours is the first Red/Silver combo I've seen - looks great!
