HARALD KELLEY
This may have been discussed on the old forum but I do not recall the outcome. I need to replace the hood pins and was going to purchase the new improved stainless set from SPP. I was also considering the black billit set. Will they (billet set) work & do the holes line up? I do not want to change if I got to redrill or other modifications. Thanks
bullittmansparts
Harold , they will work......But you will have to alter/bend the upright bracket so the cross pin will sit in the new billet frame. I have a set but went back to the flat SS plate that are like the originals to avoid that.

Pictures of the new hood pins show a grove that the cross-pin should be able to just slide into and track to, so why does the bend to the cross-pin have to be done. Is teh groove not deep enough or what?

The billet base is thicker and when placed on the GT-H hood changes the angle....The slot in the billet is grooved and the pin will not fit unless you alter it some. Don't get me wrong it is a quality piece, but IMO made for a flat hood, i.e. stock.
