johnrehder
Has anyone ever written up a semi detailed installation experience regarding a self install of a Paxton supercharger installation on their Shelby GT? I have written many installation instructions/maintainence guides for BMW K1200Lt motorcyles and was hoping that someone on this site has paved the way so others can benefit from their experiences. I do not have the time to take the car out to Vegas for this type of install so I would love to tackle it myself. Anyone installed one here? I think forum user name Cudafly has done his own Shelby Paxton SC install. Maybe he could post up some information if you ask him nicely.

Here's some pics... http://home.earthlink.net/~cudafly/Shelby/page1.htm The '05 Paxton install manual is here: http://www.paxtonauto.com/pdf/manuals/4809654.pdf About 95% of the '07-'08 install is the same, look at the H.O. steps if you are going to use the Sheby Paxton kit. Also, you might want to consider using the Ford Racing Dual Fuel Pump (same as the GT 500) instead of using the Paxton auxiliary pump. Overall the Paxton kit is very good quality but the auxillary fuel pump setup is a bit of a hack. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_...rtKeyField=9639 Took me about 4 days (24 hours total) plus a day on the dyno for a custom tune. johnrehder
Thanks for the info. Do you feel you got a good HP gain for the cost for the unit? Any regrets? CudaFly
Thanks for the info. Do you feel you got a good HP gain for the cost for the unit? Any regrets? Regardless of which brand SC or turbo setup you pick you probably can't get more (safe) HP per $. I like the Paxton stricly because of the old school Shelby connection. It's easy to get more HP than the bottom end can handle so HP gain is not an issue. No regrets, I've had the SC in for almost a year now, drive it every day and I'm not tired of it. It's pretty straightforward, take your time and follow the directions. Good luck...
