2007silvergt500
I am waiting for the call to send my car to SAI for the 40th package. I am concerned from the posts I am reading about the quality of the stripes, carbon fiber boards, rubbing of rear tires, problems with the balance on the new rims and tires as well as problems with getting the original parts back in good shape. If I missed any please let me know. Can you tell me for those that are having problems is SAI working with you to get them solved? Are you satisified with the upgrade even with the problems you are having? For the price of this upgrade I do not want to be fixing things on my own when the car is returned to me. I look forward to hearing some responses to help me make up my mind about sending it or not?

It stayed at SAI for performance upgrades until Feb 14th, 08. In between those dates, I picked up my parts when returning from a trip to Texas from Californai. 1. My package is fine, I would do it again and not blink. 2. Some have had more stripe issues than others, mine are fine. If something minor comes up, I'll either fix it or have the shop do it for a nominal cost and I consider it normal maintenance. I have seen nothing that I would consider a re-do on the stripes, save for the fact that my wife, ah I mean someone other than me, closed the garage door on the rear bumper and those stripes have to be replaced. 3. The carbon fiber rocker panel is a subjective call. You may see it as a probleml I don't. I don't see the fit as much of an issue, but you could argue that the appears at the finish at the top corner of the rocker panel was sanded and perhaps needs some resin to seal it. I have had 500 or 600 people admire my car and not one person has said, OMG, look at those lousy rocker panels, in fact the opposite has been true. I don't know what to say about the shipping parts. It seems like someone could offer insurance or the option to pack the parts in wooden crates for an additional cost. Most of thse parts are going to hit the market for resail and due to the influx of parts from all of the packages, the market will be flooded with most items. The best option is to pick them up yourself if you can. My experience has been great except for the muffler and the Hurst style shifter with the white ball. I wish both of these items has been handled differently, but they are an easy fix when you get your car back.

The pros far outweigh the cons imho. I would say for anyone shipping their car, make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb with the carrier driver noting any and all blemishes on the car prior to shipping it. Make sure to tell the driver to do the same prior to accepting the car for the return trip home. Once the car gets to you, go over it again. I found a couple of scratches after the fact and trust me, everyone will blame the other party and you'll get stuck fixing it in the end. Just my .02. 07REDGT500
Very happy with mine. The only issue is the fit of the gauges in the gauge cluster. Two of the gauges have a slight gap. I contacted them and they gave the information I needed to try and adjust the fit. I have not tried yet. Most people would not notice, but I tend to be anal. Check it out before taking delivery. I did not notice it until later. The 40th is a great package and SAI has been a pleasure to work with.
Badass40th
I have had our GT 500 back from SAI since February, and I can tell you about some of my experiences that hopefully will help. I have found 3 areas where the stripes slightly peeled up on the corners. I simply took it to the same auto body shop that did my clear bra and they fixed it. The silver trim piece that goes around the map lights that says Shelby has glue on and around it...Have not been able to get it off yet. Have had some stalling at high RPM's....may be due to the injectors, but I haven't even taken it to the dealership. Right front tire hits body. Shelby has advised I take it to the dealership to have the suspension adjusted. Last of all....DO NOT USE ACCURATE AUTO CARRIERS. They scrapped my right front rim and tire on the ramp, and we are still waiting for the $800.00 dollars they promised us.
