Robert M
I am still undecided on the standard black finish, or the optional polished finish on my 725 conversion. Does anyone have pictures of an engine compartment with a polished KB blower? Thanks, Robert

Michael Morris
I really like the BLING BLING of the polished, but on my red car I like the standard. I guess I wanted to stay with the RED, BLACK Theme! michael morris

I guess I wanted to stay with the RED, BLACK Theme! michael morris Thank you for the pictures Bud!! Michael - I too am partial to the Red/Black theme. The polished look is nice, but to me it appears that the black blower is more "business looking" without the bright call out of the polished alum. BUT.......the polished look does accent the other bright alum. items in the engine compartment. Hummmmm, I'm torn between the two!?!? I have heard of twin turbo's.........Bud, twin S/C's? Robert M
I understood there to be three finished....black, satin and polished. Does anyone have a pic of the satin??? Satin has been deleted from the options. I was going to choose the $650 satin option when all of this started, but since that time, the KB options have changed to black or polished only. Robert M
Well..........before my wife knew the $$$ difference between black and polished blowers, she said she liked the black look better than the polished. Aussie Snake
***** Update ***** Obviously all fixed up, both cars picked up yesterday from Las Vegas. My Super Snake heading onto a boat this week and setting sail for a south pacific cruise, one month before arriving in melbourne approximately. Thanks to all who have helped. Cheers Jason. KBTECH
Satin has been deleted from the options. I was going to choose the $650 satin option when all of this started, but since that time, the KB options have changed to black or polished only. R Actually, there never were three versions. The satin refers to the "black" version. The confusion may have came about because the manifolds on the "black" version are satin (casting finish). The $650 option is for polished. There never really was a "black" version, it was originally dubbed a satin version. The correct way to refer to that kit would probably be "black/satin". I will see if Shelby can change the way they list it to avoid any future confusion. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Man those polished versions do look mighty fine ladies and gentlemen (my preference)! Regards, Ken

What an awesome car man! We had the privilege of having the #1 Red Super Snake here at Kenne Bell to do some testing on (TVS) and then install our kit afterwards. I could not even get around the block without everyone who saw that car totally freaking out!! You will be the talk of Australia, no doubt! Congratulations!! On a side note, it looks like you guys use the RON European method of octane rating there. I'm sure you already know this, but always run 98 octane fuel minimum in your Super Snake (you may even want to consider running some Torco octane booster just for safety sake). Sometimes the octane version gets mixed up in the translation from our R+M/2 method here, so when we say 91 octane minimum, some of the European countries think it's OK to use the lower RON rated fuel. No! Anyway, we hope you enjoy your car as much as we do ours! Best Regards, Ken
Aussie Snake
Hi ken, Thanks mate, it is going to be so much fun. There is nothing like these cars over here. The new camaro is being developed out of australia and will be significantly cheaper when it arrives, but it is not going to have that "Shelby" magic nor 725 kenne bell hp. You do realise we are converting these beasts to right hand drive as well. I will post all the pictures up when we are done. The worlds first right hand drive super snake coming up !!!!. Cheers and speak soon. Jason.

I just read recently in Corvette Milestones that the law had changed in Australia and you guys no longer had to go through that torture. Not so? At any rate, you have got yourself (and all you other Super Snake owners) one incredible work of art IMHO. I am in awe every single time I see one and drive ours (although ours is still a GT500 at this time, it is slated for the SS conversion soon at SAI). Can't wait!!! :happy feet: Best Regards, Ken
Rstuva
Boy, That polished version looks nice. It would really enhance the Ebony SS. I did not really mention that. Do I need to let them know before I send the car in? Or do I wait for that magical phone call, and just tell them on delivery? Probably need to know before car arrives Rob (#335-725)

Do I need to let them know before I send the car in? Or do I wait for that magical phone call, and just tell them on delivery? Probably need to know before car arrives Rob (#335-725) Rob - As far as I know, the blower finish needs to be chosen at the same time as the specific order is placed for your car. The $1300 polished blower finish upgrade is listed on the same sheet as the horse power choice (600 vs 725), caliper color choice, suspension choice (Ford Racing vs. Shelby/Eibach), and side scoop vs. block-off plate choice. I believe all parts that are chosen by the owner are collected ahead of time, this would include a fiberglass hood painted the color of your car, and are ready for install when the shop is ready for you car, once your number has been called. From what I understand, any changes to the order after it has been received and processed by SAI, can be charged additional $$$ for the changes, after the order has been processed. The best bet is to be very sure of what options you want well ahead of time so decisions don't have to be made at the last minute when your number is called. That is why I started this blower thread. I wanted to see how the Black vs. Polished blower actually looked. It was great that Bud took a few underhood/blower pictures in the shop. Thanks again Bud!! vipereatr
Here is an e-mail I got from Adrienne: I originally opted for the 605 hp upgrade and would like to change that to the 725, polished super charger pending the answers to these questions. 1. Should I formally notify SAI of the change? Yes, you should let us know ASAP. I will check your file and make the change for you. 2. Can I make that change when SAI calls to arrange for car delivery to your facility? Yes you can make the change at that time. 3. Will this change (other than the cost difference) result in a some other fee or penalty? No, there is no penalty or fee associated with the change other than the change in price. 4. Does SAI need to know about the change for scheduling purposes? Yes. This may change when we call for your car, based on part availability. jsdogs1
I just left a friend's house where he has 2 40th anniversary editions both with the polished upgrade. It is like looking at a large diamond on some ones finger compared to a small diamond on some one elses. These things look so awsome that a picture can not even begin to do them justice. He just got both cars back today. I never thought I would be jealous as a SS owner, but man those superchargers look awsome. The main difference beside the polished turbo is the hood and some badging. almost makes me feel that getting the SS was not as special as I thought it would be. But congrats to him on having two beautiful cars and again to SAI for building two masterpieces.
