Guest evilchris
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Mustan...018563066QQrdZ1 Sweet deal, $91k if you want it! $59k reserve not met! This is a BAD auction to bid on too, as it's private. They do this so you can't see the bidders, ie dummy accounts inflating the bid price near the end. Very shady practice. Guest evilchris
I wonder if Lonestar is one of the dealers who tried to sell their initial Ford GT's for $500,000.

FordEvangelist
My favorite part about the auction is that there are 77 bids on it as of right now - over 4 TIMES as many bids for this GT500 as all other GT500's listed. Scratch that... the best part is that all bid are "private" bids. Bet the reserve is set right near $60k. They're probably trying to sucker someone into bidding $61k thinking they don't have a chance on it. Jerks.

Ford will build more shelby's in 2007 than built from 1965-70! My dealer Mentioned ADM the other day when I picked up a couple of trucks. I told him I will use ADM if he backs out on my MSRP deal! Another Dealer Making profit on the 40-50 f-250's we buy a year! He backed down, but I'm still on the infamous material hold!

yamahar1
who are you to call it a fake shelby. I own one and I take that very offensive! Be offended, it never goes through Shelby's shop. The only part that is Shelby is the $5.00 lettering on the trunk.... I could put that on a V-6 and it would be just as much of a Shelby. You must be offended because you paid so much. The Shelby GT, that is actually going through his shop will be the real one, for you Shelby enthusiasts.

I understand the frustrations with not being able to get a decent price, but that's no reason to run others cars down! The frustrations are coming from the fact that nearly all of the ADM is because of that badge. I'd say the first $5k is the " latest thing " ADM, like on terminators when they came out, and the rest if the badge. A GIGANTIC amount of the interest in the car came from the Shelby badge. Without it, the car would have been released exactly as it is, but without the stripes, and would be easy to aquire.

I would buy it at MSRP or below, you are right, but that doesn't change the truth. Facts are facts, the car is an SVT Cobra. The new Shelby GT will be a real Shelby. This was just a marketing gimmick that people are falling for. I am not running people's car's down, it is a nice car, but not a real Shelby. So all you people paying to get a Shelby collectible, too bad, you are being suckered. Did he, Mr. Shelby, really have anything to do with the decisions about the car? No? The car could be called Bean-Counter Car, they had more to do with it than him, especially those crappy looking el-cheapo stripes. All that said, I would buy one to drive, not to collect a "Shelby" like some losers who are trailering the car to their garage where it will sit and depreciate in value. My guess is that it will not be worth much more than a terminator cobra with similar miles on it in 15-20 years. I bet the Hertz Shelby or the Shelby GT will be worth more in the future. For the most part we agree. I consider my car a Shelby and an SVT, but I realize the car is more SVT than Shelby, also something I am proud of. Like you, I would not pay more than msrp, nor did I. I bought the car as an investment in fun, not as a financial investment and most of all, I bought the car because, in my opinion it is the best Mustang ever built and I am proud to own it as an SVT or as a Shelby. Both names you can be proud of. Ford decided to call this car a Shelby, Shelby himself calls this car a Shelby, it will be in the Shelby registry so I too call it a Shelby. The Shelby's from 1968-1970 never had a wrench laid on them by Shelby, but they seem to be about as popular as those that were. In the end, I could care less if this car does nothing but drop in value, I love it!

It`s obvious you were at the meetings with Shelby& Ford engineering & designers for the four days July/04 Interesting . So What Should we call The G.T-40 Any thoughts .
