Razor wheel tires

Recommended Posts

Hi all Im ready to buy the razors for my Shelby GT I did a search found alot of answers mostly on the GT500 sections but I really need your input on this. I was told to buy the 20x9 6" backspace 255\35\20 front and 255\35\20 back but alot of cars have 275 35 out back my concern is I dont want the tire to stick out of the fenders also I saw that they have a 6.5 backspace wheel does anyone have this rim and how does it look and fit. Would love some good pics of some nice SGT's with these wheels and different tire combo to help me to make the right decision. Appreciate all the help

The 20x9 Razors will fit great and look absolutely awesome!

The guys at SAI recommend, and use on the cars they modify at the mod shops the following.

Front: 255/35R20

Rear: 275/35R20

On a 9" rim the 275's are a little more squared off at the sidewall.

On a 10" rim the 275's are more curved. Several have been VERY happy

I also had the same concerns as you - after several changes in mind and looking at photobucket after photobucket of other peoples SGTs

you'll be happy!!

Looks awesome! Would that combination work on the GT500?

Thanks

I am personally going with the CS69's on my SGT. . . . . . . several have gone with the 20" Razors. . . . . . . .

I have also seen quite a few people with Chrome 20x9 Razors on the GT500. I remember seeing one GT500 'vert - Vista Blue with them.

My answer to your question: YES!

Do the hood TClark1976! :) And have them mount the windshield washer nozzles to the wiper arms and not drill the hood.

I guess I'm in the minority here as I don't care for the Razors...I can't stand the rivets (or the look of rivets) in wheels...just turns me off of the wheel...I'm leaning toward the Redlines, but can't decide whether to go with Chrome or Silver painted centers to match the stripes. I'm also thinking about sticking with the original 18" size as I'm not a fan of 20" wheels on cars either...I prefer a little more rubber in the sidewalls as there are some pretty good holes out here in West Texas and I'd have to shoot myself if I bent a rim in one of them...

Different strokes for different folks as they say though...Me, I'm gonna have to rob a bank or two to get enough money to do all the mods that I'd like to do to my car....maybe my ship will come in at the airport soon :D

Hi, I was looking and really considering the Razors before I went with the CS69s and the Offset was the big difference for me with the amount that the wheels stuck out. Here is a link to a site that has a picture of a Razor with the 24mm offset. They stick out way to much for my tastes.

Look at the bottom of page 1 in a post from Andretti. He has a big picture showing how the tire sits in the wheel well.

I was going to go with the 44mm offset which set the wheel back into the wheel well more and, for me, looked better.

I have the 275/35s on mine and I really like the way the tire looks. Fits great. I still really like the looks of the Razors on any Mustang and especially the Shelby.
