torquewrench1807
I spoke with the owner of an 05 SGT500 who recently drove a Bullitt. He could not say enough good things about the shifter in the Bullitt. I really like the Hurst shifter in my SGT. The shifter in the Bullitt is not the same as those in the SGT. An instructor at the Lone Star Roundup suggested potential car buyers look at the SGT because you can drive it off the lot and to the track, no upgrades necessary for the novice/rookie. Eventually you would like big brakes and a suspension upgrade. The Bullitt does not sit as low as an SGT, nor have the handling package. With the gray bullitt wheel, the green Bullitt looks good going down the road, but I would purchase an 07 SGT. And the price is right.
ilmor
Value - Shelby GT is a Shelby; Bullitt is a ... Ford. Performance - Shelby GT has 4 more hp (per EPA)...and it handles better, with stiffer springs, special shocks and special sway bars. Bullitt has a softer ride, for those who prefer that. Shelby GT has a Hurst Shifter; Bullitt has a standard Mustang GT shifter. Durability - no difference. ETC - Shelby GT will be more of a head turner; Shelby GT does not come in Highland Green, but it does come in the fastest color, Performance White! Shelby GT has an infamous scoop; Bullitt has none. Bullitt has the GT500 seats and steering wheel - a nice touch.

07SHELBY GT
Two completely different cars.Shelby GT is an awesome handler and looker. The Bullitt has an understated look and a little more comfort+it come with GT500 rear axle,Of course with heat treated 3:73's VS 3:31,GT500 seats and steering wheel. They both have their ups and downs.BTW,Not to start an E-battle but the Bullitt was rated at 315 HP on 87 octane and the rating is 320 on 91.Don't flame me I just thought that I would point that out as I just found that odd piece of info myself. If you like to drag race,Take an occasional day at the track in the twisties,The Bullitt is for you.If you want to drive right off the lot to the twisties than the Shelby GT is for you.You really have to drive them both.I have owned one of each and really can't call one better than the other. 1965coupe
There are a lot of good reasons discussed in the other Bullitt thread.. For me, I like cars that are dressed-up a bit- the Bullitt is too plain for my tastes. Even if I were to buy a Bullitt, I would want it lowered, with stripes, and more dress-up items. Like I have said earlier, a Shelby is a Shelby.. even a Bullitt that has been made to look like a Shelby will always be a Bullitt.. The Bullitt does have its advantages: custom faux gas cap, GT500 steering wheel, and a BEAUTIFUL dash!

walc
The Bullitt does have its advantages: custom faux gas cap, GT500 steering wheel, and a BEAUTIFUL dash! Not to mention, GT500 seats, 320 HP on premium gas, and currently selling for $4K to $5K off MSRP, after rebates, which means $27 to $29K, depending on options, which is about $10K lower than invoice on a 2008 Shelby GT Coupe. Of course, the Bullitt doesn't pose as a Shelby. Rather, it is a special edition beefed-up Mustang GT and a damn nice car. :happy feet:
AFBLUE
I wish the SGT had the Bullitt's CAI set up (ability to easily switch back and forth between octane levels) and personally would prefer the Bullitt softer ride quality to SGT's. But prefer the SGT looks over the Bullitt's (but I still love the Bullitt's look). Also the Bullitt's pricing compared to the SGT's is a big plus too. Bottomline is you can't go wrong with either. ilmor
Not me - I love the race car ride. Also, I believe that the Bullit costs less because it doesn't have as many additional performance parts, and it wasn't sent to SAI in Vegas to have those parts custom installed by Shelby. Finally, its not a Shelby. All of that makes the price understandably higher. I do like the CAI setup - I wouldn't mind switching to regular sometimes. Maybe this will be offered on the aftermarket; I don't see why they couldn't.

sudden
You can use the 1g GGT that you do not have to pay on the Bullit and put the same suspension on as our SGT . It will out perform a stock SGT.
AFBLUE
Forgot that one. SGT owners pay the $1K GGT and Bullitt owners don't, yet the Bullitt gets 1 more hp than the SGT on 91 octane. That's annoying. I'll get over it.
ilmor
All things considered, I saw mine and a Bullit nearly side by side a week ago and compared them. I know the differences between them. Conclusion - I would still chose the Shelby GT.
tcrockstar
When i went to dealer the Bullitt and the SGT were side by side. I originally went to buy the Bulitt. I drove the Bulitt, really nice upgraged GT. Then I drove the SGT, the first 500 feet i was sold. The ride is incredible. Guess which one i purchased. The deal was so good on the SGT I couldnt pass it up. Both great cars

ilmor
This sounds great - If it really works I would definitely prefer this over other tunes, i.e. Brenspeed, etc. I guess time will tell as people try it out.
69dejavue
I am also curious about the Steeda tune but would prefer to wait 6-12 months to hear from others the results. It would appear all we really need is the Bullitt tune from Ford which would allow us to use the same CAI and any octane? Why is this such a problem to obtain? Does anyone know if the Bullitt tune could be flashed into our SGTs withhout creating problems?
fatboy
if the insurance man says my SGT is totalled i'm gettin another one. :burnout: m. morris, did u hear that? get ready to hook me up. probably wont be the case. probably just give me enough to repair the damage. if i could afford both i would get the bullit too. :bandance:

It will out perform a stock SGT. If you place the SGT suspension on the Bullitt, thereby making it equal, how will it outperform the SGT? The only difference between HP is minute and 3.73 gears. 3.73's have an advantage under some circumstances but not others. I still think the SGT, with 3.5s is the best all around package. 3.73s were not an option for the SGT but had it been I still would have selected the 3.5s. SWEDEMAN
315 on 87,320 on 91. 07ShelbyGT - Just input the link where you saw it on the Ford website that the Bullitt has 315HP @ 87 octane and the 320HP @ 91 octane. That should do it for everybody-
sudden
Simple 69 dejavue, it is also lighter due to the lack of boy racer stuff on our SGTs, like fake hood scoops etc. SUDDEN.
