Shelby CS69 Wheels on my White SGT

Recommended Posts

I finally took some pictures of my SGT that were worthy of putting on the forum. I just installed the CS69s with BFG G-Force KDWs last week. They are fantastic. I have had lots of comments on them. They do ride a tad stiffer but that's to be expected for 20s but who cares, they just set the looks off for me. Here are a few shots of them and some dress up mods I have made to the engine bay.

Now I'm ready for the next Shelby Roundup here in Florida. Last time I had only owned my SGT for 2 weeks and hadn't had the chance to do anything to her. I'm getting it ready for next year and give these guys and gals with their awesome SGTs some competition. Next up is a custom painted Cobra on my Fuse box cover. I'll post a pict when it's done.

looks very nice. I see the caps in the engine anything else we are missing? Steve

Thanks, nothing too crazy yet like a supercharger just some dress up. I added a Steeda Carbon Fiber Intake, painted the strut tower brace white. I liked the look of that better for a white SGT. Just think it mates with the strut towers better than the black one did. I added the fluid knobs and the strut tower billet nut covers. I also have the fuse box cover and am in the process of having a custom cobra painted on it. Should look good when it's done. Besides that just the wheels and tires and the Shelby Black lower grill.

It's only been with me for 5 weeks so there's lot's left to do. When I was at the Shelby Round up in Oneida there were lot's of GT500s and SGTs that had some great mods. Just got me inspired to make it my own.

Very nicely done. It almost looks as good as my Black SGT :hysterical: ! I have 20" chrome Razors with the word SHELBY engraved right into the chrome wheel. Your car is the nicest white one I have seen to date! Good job-

Those wheels are definately growning on me. This is the first time I have seen them on White, looks great. What color are those???? I want to see the Chrome. I like the Chrome because it is not over the top, only the outer portion of the spokes are chrome, the rest appears aluminum. Looking at yours I may like this color better.

If you do not mind where did you get them and how much????????????????

Thanks, appreciate the comments. They are the Hyper Black CS69s. I got them from Ultimate AutoSports in Orlando, Florida through Ebay who treated me right. They had them drop shipped from Shelby. The pricing was around $1100 for the set. Not bad really. I was on the fence when I ordered them. It was between them and the Shelby Razors. I really liked the look of the Razors but there are lots of great looking SGT and GT500 with the Razors and I wanted something unique. Now that they are on the car I think they look really classy. Oh yea I got the tires from Tire Rack, about 1K for them delivered. I had a local shop mount the tires and I installed them at home.

Where did you get your strut tower covers, what brand? Did they screw right on the existing bolts or did you have to modify anything? Strut tower brace looks good, nice touch!

Love the wheels, but I have a question about the strut tower brace. I'm planning on having mine powder coated red. Did you remove the nameplate or did you mask it off? I'm thinking about drilling out the rivits and replacing them with stainless allen head bolts.

Dave,

I bought them through Ebay from a place called Stage 3 Motor Sports

They were 44.95 with free shipping. They screw on and fit nicely but the ones that fit on the bolts that attach the strut tower needed to be trimmed to fit because the strut tower tubes welds were in the way. Those 4 bolts I ground with a dremel and then glued them to the bolts with some locktite. I talked to one of the guys at the Florida Shelby Roundup that did the same thing with his. Besides grinding the welds on the strut I couldn't see another way to make it work.

Thanks Bob,

I just masked it off being careful to make sure that there wouldn't be any bleeding up along the corners and edges. Then I primed it with a sandable primer. I wet sanded it down and painted it Performance White from Plasti Kote, then finished it with a couple of coats of clear. Turned out pretty good and there wasn't any problem with the nameplate.

Looks sharp! I like the carbon elbow also.

Me too. Can anyone provide some info about it? Such as cost, and any install tips? Does it simply replace the rubber unit? Any performance gains? Does it affect the tune? The best place to purchase? Thanks.

Where did you get that black shelby 1/4 window cover? I cant find them anywhere...

You can get them from Shelby Performance parts, Scott Drake or Blue Oval Industries. But they do not come painted. They are a brushed aluminum finish. I took the time to mask off every rivet and the Shelby logo then had them painted, removed the mask and had 3 coats of clear applied. Lot's of work by I like the finished product.

I bought the Carbon Fiber inlet elbow directly from Steeda. It costs 199.95 and shipped to me in a couple of days. It's a breeze to install and directly replaces the existing rubber elbow on the Shelby GT. It comes with all the mounting straps needed for the install. I'm not sure that there are any performance gains. I think it's a tad more responsive but could just be that I installed it on a cooler day than a normal Florida one. It doesn't require any tune changes. Here is the link to Steeda for the elbow.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link....I just read this following....Note: Will work with FRPP intakes but will require retuning if using FRPP's tune with one of our SCT tuners. Shelby GT and GT-H cars are equipped with FRPP intakes. Will require retune with SCT tuner for these vehicles.

What does this mean...pardon my ignorance , as I really dont know this stuff....
