2007_Shelby_GT
I'd like the sound system to have power at all times so it will play with the doors open and no key in the ignition. Has anyone attempted this mod or perhaps offer suggestions on how it can be done? SEF AKA:
JeffIsHereToo
Electrically I can see this as a potential issue. You would have to find an ALWAYS live circuit and if the radio were left on. Besides I don't think it's possible as the car has a "sleep" mode of sorts when the key is removed which may complicate things. Maybe you can fool the ignition switch wiring to believe you have a key in and it's turned backwards to auxiliary mode? I know a bit about electronics but unfortunately nothing about the car's circuitry. Maybe someone has access to a good wiring harness schematic? But with the battery problems some have had I would proceed with caution and maybe invest in good iPod boom box as an alternative.
07alloyGT
Try going to your local custom stereo shop (not Best Buy or Circuit City) & ask them. They should know what can & can't be done.
2007_Shelby_GT
Thanks for the suggestions. On previous vehicles with after-market installs, I always ran a hard line (with inline fuse) directly from the battery to the sound system. Perhaps the ignition switch can be by-passed.
