Riveted Hood Scoop stripe update, for me & my dealer

Recommended Posts

i started new topic as old one was getting buried in the topics for some reason. dealer sent pics of the pushed back striping as well as peeling where rivets are to ford warranty digit imaging dept. WELL they rejected it said it was the fault of body shop who installed it, myself and dealer know that is not true, i walked him to his showroom to show him his 3 08's with identical issue. he called the 702 number he had for shelby, its appears it was the parts guy who came to phone, he said they can send new scoop and rivet set as well as stripe, dealer asked if this is the new fix, he said NO. he then explained agin that this issue is with the latest fix, shelby guy said to out warranty claim he to ford warranty shelby division. so dealer with take this issue up the channels as he also has to now fix 3 of his cars. has anyone else actually received afix for this rather than just replacing the scoop and stripes again the same way!! oh ya leading back to initial scoop issue the SAI guy said people can get hertz hood for 25% off is they want. I say replace the hood fully painted as swap to these issue, i';d be happy and problem goes away, with what they have spent already on my 2 replacement scoops, stripes & labor they could have done that first and been ahead most likely.

So now you can see why I chose to fix mine myself for just $15 in parts/tools :P

These cars were meant to be driven :shift:

And not just to & from the Dealership/Bodyshop for another hood scoop :poke:

AGAIN for the love of gawd, the thread isn't disappearing!

I explained to you what you're doing wrong in the thread when you asked the last time. You are accessing the hood scoop thread from the Discussion area. Once a thread is moved it doesn't advance further in the original area.

Ok...first the other topic is not in the Shelby GT Discussion Forum. What you're using, and I suspect others have as well, is a reference link created back when the topic was moved over to here in Feb. That link is locked in time over there. It will never move, except down.

The hood scoop topics are in the Shelby GT Mods, ShelbyGT Tech. Forum and there they will stay on page #1 as long as people post. Now I see where the confusion is! When a topic is moved it's essentially dead in the other forum. To see them move and see the latest posts you need to be in the right forum which is Shelby GT Mods, ShelbyGT Tech.

Now I will move your thread but to reduce confusion NOT leave a marker behind.

It's really not that bad... Especially from the view in the driver's seat, when I'm actually driving the car... Instead of it sitting at the dealership or bodyshop for the 3rd or 4th or 5th time getting the "newest" version installed and hoping that they get it right...

But at least this way, I only have myself to blame if something doesn't look right... And if after looking at ver 4.0 at other cars during the upcoming Summer "Car Show" season, I see that everything is fixed, then I'll take it in and have it replaced professionally... Even if I have to pay for it myself... Because I'm sure that the actual cost of replacing it myself once would be a LOT less than the time, effort, missed work, missed driving, and overall frustration wasted on having the dealership try for 3-4 times and still not get it right...
