But I do know I am getting me a GT500 just the way I want! How does your dealer know they are even getting allocation for a 09???? Rumor is they are only building the 09 for 6 months and another rumor was only 3000 GT500's for 09. If there is any truth to this then a lot of dealers won't get any for 09. Mine is ordered, I paid the deposit and I have the order confirmation that says so. I don't want to burst your bubble, but that doesn't mean squat! I have the same thing with one I have on order. It is just sitting there in the system with a status of "material hold" and that is how all these orders will sit until Ford actually PULLS the order and SCHEDULES a build date and ISSUES a vin number! Once Ford pulls the order, schedules the build date and issues a vin number on your order, THEN you have nothing to worry about. We can put all the orders we want into the system, but it doesn't mean you will ever get it. I had two regular GT Mustangs ordered for customers that were sold. Ford only pulled one and one got cancelled as being balanced out. So one customer won't get their car. The point is, until Ford issues the dealer actual allocation to get one, any orders we place in the system sit there on material hold until the dealer gets allocation, "IF" they ever get allocation. If they don't get allocation that order will just sit there and never get pulled and scheduled. So until you have a VIN NUMBER you don't have any guarantee or confirmation that you will get it. Right now you only have confirmation that the dealer just placed the order in the system. Notice there is no vin number? No scheduled build date? All our old orders that never got pulled show cancelled or balanced out. But if they ever schedule that 06 GT I'll buy it! What color? Can I still change it if I wanted to? Bill Ford allotted us another Ford GT. thing is the entire line closed before he could get the order pushed through...dead deal black no stripes. every other option possible!
