I think Black is the color for the SS, especially with the flat black stripes. It should look stealthy and mean!! Hopefully it will sound that way as well. My GT500 is Black with a sequence CSM# of 07SS0044. I'm waiting patiently for my call.

Black with black calipers, black strips, black chrome wheels, tinted head-lite covers tail-lite covers and turn-lite covers.

I have to say so far I haven't seen one color I don't like. And the SS hood makes um all look great.

I really like it when people paint the calipers to match, it looks nice - looks finished. Someone, sorry (can't remember who) posted a black GT500 with red side strips, red calipers and even touched up the Cobra with some red, nice touch looks good.

Live to drive & drive to have fun!

nice work. is this the one off you talked Amy into? :superhero:

Trust me when I say I tried pleading with her until I was BLUE in the face :hysterical2:

I made this one up last night because I'm thinking about just getting a few of the SS parts & having a local decal shop make up the Vista Blue ones that would be needed.... so far it's only a thought

Question,

How is your new revamped baby doing?

Have you had it top out yet, if so haw did she handle? The reason I ask is that I had the opportunity to open my stock "Still waiting for my SS revamp" gt500 and it got squarely around 130. the rearend got wish-washy on me. My old 69 did a better then this one.

verts will do that.... :burnout:

HiJack :redcard::angry22:

Ok off topic, but will the new suspension reslove this or will I need to do rework it after I get it back?

No hi-jacking, I know Enis & my point is that convertibles at high speed have less down force on the rear of the car due to the aerodynamics of the softtop vs. a hardtop coupe like mine. Less down force = less traction & stability

Ok thxs , Hijack over back on topic.

I still vote for black...

I only wound it up to 145 on the way home from SAI and the car felt solid and stable all the way around, and both the engine and suspension had plenty of legs left to pin the speedo needle and then some. I am not exaggerating one bit when I say that the FRPP/KR suspension on this car is awesome.

The only problem that I am experiencing with the suspension is that it's out performing the stock seating which is woefully inadquate due to lack of bolstering. I have already proposed to SAI that they please consider selling higher performance seating for the cars, and it is something that they are considering, but in the meantime, I might just go out and replace my stock seats with a set of Ricaro's or something like them.

Good feed back and a big relief.

I had mine red lined from zero on up. At about 130mph my cars butt got squarely, felt like it was sliding with a slight bounce right to left, left to right etc. As it was moving forward - correction it was swerving. It seemed like it the tires were taking turns grabbing and pulling the car in that direction for a second or two.

If you did not have this problem, that is good news and means SAI has indeed done their homework and got it right. I should add the test road was in good condition.

Coldwaterhotrod was saying that this is inherent in vert due to aerodynamics of the ragtop vs. the coup.

I’ve never had a ragtop before so never thought of it from that viewpoint but it makes sense. Maybe something to look into.

I like the new seat idea, but then there goes that head rest covers, wonder how they would look in my wifes honda :hysterical:

Thanks for getting back.

Coldwaterhotrod said no Hijacking so I have to keep on topic, I see grabber orange is right up there with black, must be due to the black strip that make the orange pop.

I wanted to vote but there is not a spot for tungsten gray. Being from the country I could'nt figure out which of the bottom two colors was mine if either. I pick my color because now we are talking exclusitivity.(and I like my color).

So what your saying is your Butt is moving around, not the car? :)

Yes, but it's not so much that my ass is sliding all over the seat, it's mostly my upper torso, and I have to hold on to the steering wheel with a death grip in order to maintain a good driving position in hard turns.

It's all good Jim. Although I did not experience it in my 500 before the conversion, I have experienced that high speed fish tailing (swerving) in other cars so I do know of what you speak, but as stated, the SS is extreemely stable at speed.

Just a quick response, no hijacking intended... I had my coupe up to 142mph on the way home from Vegas when I bought it - very stable, and there was more left. I haven't had the convertible that fast, though. Both stock.

Back to topic now... Black rocks!
