captdave
I have been watching the 2008 GT500 prices for the last few months. Adm's are dead. You don't have to pay them anymore. If your local dealer wants $10-20k Adm's just laugh at him. If he wants $5k and under on a car you want just talk him down to MSRP. Don't pay over. If the dealer won't come down, just take a drive over the state line. MSRP is out there. For what I have been seeing below MSRP is coming real soon. Some dealers are begging for MSRP. Hold out and don't give in to Adm's anymore. CaptDave

When they announce the 09, watch em drop!
captdave
hotrodric You are correct sir. With the 2009's coming out watch the prices fall. You may get invoice by the end of next year. Anyone who pays even $.02 Adm's is crazy. Hold out for that car you want. Prices are coming down each day. Don't encourage the dealers anymore. MSRP is the most anyone should pay for a 2008 GT500, try for less. CaptDave

captdave
There is a 2008 GT500 conv black/black in Hackettstown, NJ that has been sitting all winter. They had it at $20k Adm. I just looked at it today for $10k Adm. $5k Adm's are over, these people will have to wake up. CaptDave
sfm6s1675
I've been waiting for ADMs to go away and also have been working on the financials...so I am hoping to order a 2009 (assuming they make one). Question, Capt Dave (& others), are you talking about cars on dealer lots? What do you think about ADMs if one was ordered?

Question, Capt Dave (& others), are you talking about cars on dealer lots? What do you think about ADMs if one was ordered? There are people out there ordering a new 2008 GT500 the way they want it at MSRP. But these dealers are out in the country. Don't look for them downtown in a big city, unless you just get lucky. If you want the perfect GT500 at a dealer near you don't pay more than $3k Adm at his time. That's the high end. Adm's are dead, some dealers just don't know it. Maybe give the dealer $1k to order a car for you. The longer you wait the lower they go. I'm not giving the dealer 10 cents over when my time comes. I have been watching this too close to just give away a few thousand so I can have a car now. I'm not going to give the dealer the satisfaction of screwing me over. Last summer I wanted a new Sony KDL-52XBR4. Just came out then for $4,500. Dropped to $4,000 by Christmas. I got it on sale on 01/28/2008 for $2,800. I don't like to give my money away. I can just sit it out for a little bit to save a lot. CaptDave
Rick Martin
CaptDave you are absolutely correct. ADM's are dead. The only reason to pay the ADM is lack of patience. The deals are out there but you have to shop. The local dealers are coming down to earth quickly. Once they get stuck with paying the interest every month on GT500's sitting the deals will get better and better.

I bet that dealer thinks they have you.. You will come back and pay their price. Do your online searching of Ford dealers. Keep watching TS GT500 sales. Keep posting here for what you are looking for. We willing to travel a bit. In NJ all the GT500 have high ADM's. So I will cross over to NY, PA and DE. You can do the same. kb67
Its really about location you live near a bigger population area dealers still think the big payer is still coming in. In others areas dealers have seen that although its a great car even at sticker its expensive plus gas prices don't help alot either. Bottom line you have to really want this car in the first place to buy it. sure some thought it would be a great flip opportunity but alot of that ebay $$$ is gone now. We now begin to see that some are letting the car go after buying it a year or so ago things change now you have a used market with some low mile cars out there. So for any dealer to say its still got to have a high ADM or a ADM at all is pure BS. Its about making money I have no problem with that its how rude some folks can be to marginalize your offer or even your inquiry about price. Its not a Enzo, its not a F1 Mclearen, its a real nice mustang with a name on the back.

It's GREAT Mustang with one of the greatest's names of all time on the back! :happy feet: IMO anyone that says it is just a mustang does not appreciate what this car really is. If it is just a mustang to someone they shouldn't want it. If it is just a mustang then buy a nice V6 or even a nice GT and get some rebates to boot! Oh wait, not a FOUR SEATER!! ( everyone's favorite comeback when the Vette is thrown in the mix ) It is just as quick in the 1/4 and 0-60, faster top speed, better gas mileage, stops quicker, handles better, same price. You also don't have to deal with prick ADM dealers on it, can get a great price.

Shipwright
Going off on a slight tangent. With near certainty that there will be an 09 model year for the GT500 and that it will likely be an abreviated one (due to the early 2010 up-date). Will dealers use the smaller number of cars built (09) as an excuse to keep or even increase ADM's by stating that the 09's will the rarest of the GT500's as well as the uncertainty on the production of a follow on Shelby. Remember, we all know that the re-design of the Mustang is coming but no-one knows if there will be on 2010 Shelby (insert name/number here). Look at how long it took to replace the 04 Cobra's with the currrent Shelby GT500. What are your thoughts.

A loaded GT500 MSRP is 47K, a loaded corvette is closer to 65K. Hows that the SAME price. I bought a 07 corvette vert a year ago and bought it at 2K of cost. Still had almost 70K in the car. I love both cars, but its not really comparable IMHO. michael morris I just went and looked it up. If you go with VERY few options. Take the 2nd from the bottom of 4 packages you can get a MSRP just a hair over 53K. Ill give that 7K is kinda close. MM
08VISTA
The Dealer in Lebanon PA offered my Dealer one of his GT500s in in exchange for an Explorer on a dealer trade. I actually saw a fax copy of the invoice for the car. These cars are "softening" on price and the good deals are out there. I paid $ 1926 UNDER msrp for mine last week which I had ordered. Selfishly, as far as I'm concerned, if someone doesn't do their homework and has enough discretionary cash to help pay for the dealers next yacht, then they should go for it..paying over msrp actually helps the value of my car that I just picked up!! Thanks!
