Any numbers on those fine Cars?

That fine-looking black beauty is mine (#4990). She pulled 275/295 on the second pull in OEM SAI tune (oddly, all the SGTs did better on their second pull, like they liked it better warm, while the GT500s obviously did better on their first pulls), and when comparing this against the SCT tune, it's making me reconsider doing anything at all...until an SC is installed.

And in case anyone is interested, the black scored the highest marks of the SGT group, so it seems that "the white cars are faster" myth has been debunked. :tease:

Somewhere, I think that I hear MattChicago running to his keyboard... :slapfight:

Might have been the warm up I did on mine since it only had 122 miles on it that day before we hit the Dyno but mine went 274/294, 275/295 both runs with in tenths of each other. I had warmed the car up for about 10 minutes prior.Like ShelbyCobra826 stated to me that day it was almost like they did not like the cold, if memory serves all the SGT's shot low on the first pull and a bit higher on the second--could be the warm up.

And my friend stands corrected on the ShelbyCobra826 entry because we hit the same with my Vista blue as his--identical to the tenth.

All of them pulled within a few hp of each other. 272 to 275 rwhp. Same with rwtq, everyone was around 294 - 295.

Why are the Dyno numbers always lower than the published numbers of 319 HP and 330 torq?

I may try to plan another one in the fall if anyone is interested?

I missed it this year due to Bike Week in Daytona but a Fall meet sounds great. I'd love to meet up with you guys and put some faces to the names here.

Andy, the published HP & Torque numbers are taken at the crankshaft where as the dyno numbers are taken at the rear wheels. There is a nominal loss of 15% or slightly less through the transmission & rear end. Hope this helps.

I stand corrected. Plus, you beat my first pull by an average of 5 hp & lb-feet tq.

I thought that I had "peeked" at all the small-block runs, but I must have missed one of yours. In any event, they were all within 2% or less from each other, and I really only intended to :stirpot: on the long-running "white is faster" joke.

Agreed. If you divide my 2nd pull by 85% (100% - 15% parasitic loss), you get 324/347, which is pretty close to the 2006 SGT-H and 2007 & 2008 SGT literature on their horsepower. As for torque, the car always "felt" better than 330, so it was good to see this confirmed on the dyno. It just seems odd that Ford/SAI may have underrated the torque by so wide a margin.

PS - Only recently did I realize that "parasitic loss" had meanings beyond my mother-in-law not being able to find her car keys... :hysterical2:

Nah, no skin off my back... I just did not want the fast blacks to have all the glory.

You going Thursday night? If so I will bring the disc for you
