how is a gt 500 built?

Recommended Posts

I am fairly new to the sight. I have ordered a gt 500 and it is scheduled to be built March 10th. I am assuming that they come down the production line just like all other mustangs . Get a different motor and interior along they way . Then eventulally come off the line and go to the stripe shop. ???????

I am a documentation nut . I just sold a concourse trailored 70GT500 . So what kind of info can I get on my car? Does anyone have an inn to get production shots comming down the line? Any help would be appreciated. thanks Fran

After the model year 2008 is completed, you can get full documentation on your car and where it fits in the run directly from SVT. 1-800-FORD-788. http://www.svt.ford.com in the "newsroom".

It was $40 for the certificate, $99 for a package. Don't call until they're done building all the '08 cars.

I am aware of the certificate, whats in the package?

These are a few things that you can and should get from your dealer.

DORA

Invoice

Vehicle Visibilty. ( after its delivered have them print the complete report)

If I think of other things I will post. YOU can go to Flat Rock and watch the car go down the line. Most folks dont know that, but Im pretty sure you can. Then you can take all the pictures you want

Actually, AAI is not open to the public, tours have to be pre-arraigned and escorted. With the way the cars are scheduled, you can't really time a tour to your build. Also, the car takes multiple shifts to complete, so sticking with it as it goes down the line is not feasible. Photos are not allowed.

Been there, done that. Tour was great and very interesting. You could spot the Shelbys by the front brakes and front facia.....

I talked to a guy few days ago that said that the did get pictures while his car went down the line. I think he said he called AAI and asked if he could and they let him, but you are proably right and he might have been making it up.

I don't think they will let you take pictures inside the plant. However, I think THEY will have someone takes pics and then send them to you after they have looked through them all to insure there is nothing in them they don't want to get out.

Also, get a OASIS printed, and the vehicle specs printed.

That might be what they told me. They went and watched it go down the line and someone GAVE them pics.

Hmmm, isn't there a page where I can order? I think very hard to do it by phone from overseas. But I would be very interested to know when my car exactly was born and to receive some oder information about it.
