The only place you don't get attacked, however, is the pocketbook -- even though the Shelby GT500 gets hit with a $1,300 gas-guzzler tax and returns so-so fuel economy, at 15 miles per gallon in city driving and 21 miles per gallon on the highway.

That's because the Shelby GT500 is the most affordable domestic performance coupe on the market, priced thousands of dollars less than its closest competitors, the 2006 Dodge Viper ($83,995) and the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ($65,800).

rofl, the Z06 is actually cheaper in reality.

"In our strange way of looking at cars, it would have been nice for the Shelby GT500 to have as many air bags as it does cobra logos.

The biggest disappointment is the rear seat, which is saddled with limited head and legroom and no amenities, not even a cupholder or reading lights. Creature comforts like lighted vanity mirrors and adjustable front cupholders would have been nice, too." Jeepers is that what this person thinks a performance car is? :censored: Apperently a Chrysler magic wagon is his dream machine, as it has lots of those sorts of things.
