shelbydream1
For those of you who are a little more knowledgeable than I am about performance upgrades (feel free to chime in LuLu!)-Anybody have any experience with these? Would they be better than the catalytic converters that come stock on the Shelby GT and would they require a reflash of the computer? Or would they be a "plug and play" type of swap out? Would they be worth the $50 apiece/add anything HP wise?

Shop around for a set of 3V headers (I suggest the JBA #1675 from SPP-"bolt on"), then add the high flow cats. You will be pleased. The stock exhaust system on the SGT is rather well refined as it is. Nice FRP X pipe and FRP mufflers perform well. I disagree with opinions that 3" OD exhaust is beneficial to a N/A car. If the OD is too large, you suffer a loss of scavenger effect and some low end torque. Without some backpressure in the system, you can burn up the exhaust valves. Superchaged with 10 PSI of boost and I may lean the other way. Maybe.
racephan
I agree. No real gains to be made without a signaficant power boost being added. You will get a more noticible sound I would say. I did this on my 04 Mach 1. MRT catted H pipe with Flowmaster catback....a little gain but sounded awsome. But then again, our cars have a nice exhaust already, unlike the mach 1 had. It had more to gain from.
