110MPH in a 65MPH zone and Reckless driving. Lawyer got it from 10 points to 4 and from 30 day suspension to 14 days. First ticket in several years.

I have a Passport radar detector that works great, but this state trooper was pacing me from 1/4 mile back and I wasnt paying attention like a man doing 110mph should.

You should have seen the Judges face when I said, "SHELBY".

That's all the copper has to say and you're toast. Don't ya just love prejudice. Think we all better just go ahead and accept the fact that these cars are police magnets. Only way to beat 'em is to prevent with an escort.

...and watch behind you too!

Ooh, good story, happened yesterday, I was whizzing along doing about 125 km/h, jammin away to some metallica that popped up on Sirius, the song ends, I look in my rearview mirror, Cop truck, I swear about 8 feet behind me. I got that feeling you get when you know you're busted, the one where you can literally feel every ounce of happiness drain from your head to your feet. So I start slowly winding down, awaiting the inevitable, still there, no lights. 110, still there, no lights. 100, still there, no lights. So what does he do, he pulls out and passes me, looks over, gives me a nod and roars off. I was fairly dumbfounded until I realized I wasn't holding a 160 dollar speeding ticket. God I love this car. He must have been checking my plates while he was behind me for so long. I haven't the foggiest. Oh well. YEAH BABY!

I got pulled over coming back from the Dearborn event right across from the Corvette museum in Bowling Green KY. The cop did not say anything that was not required to issue the citation. 86 in a 65. I figured he must have been a Corvette owner.

On the flip side, I have been pulled over locally a couple of other times. Both times quickly degenerated into car talk and release with a warning. Most locals I have run into are cool.

Got a speeding ticket for 65 in a 50 in the company car...Buick Century a month before taking delivery of my SGT. Never nailed before in Jersey, but found out you just pay the $400 fine and no points. You get 2 of those every 2 years, ONLY AFTER YOU USE THOSE UP DO YOU GET POINTS!

TALK ABOUT WE WANT YOUR MONEY AND WE WANT TO KEEP YOU ON THE ROAD SO YOU CAN KEEP GETTING CAUGHT AND KEEP PAYING!

Talk about coming right out & saying speeding isnt about safety right in the statute.

Jersey, just a little speed trap between NY & PA!

Man don't complain about it. I would love to have that option in my state. I am one ticket away from a suspension on only 3 speeding tickets. Nothing else on my record.

The only speeding ticket I ever got in 37 years was once in a rental economy car in GA when I did not see the sign and speed limit change in a small Georgia town.

dont u just love those speed traps? your driving along and next thing u know there are 3 speed limit signs 100 ft apart from each other just before u come into a small town. and ol' Deputy Fyfe's doin a checkpoint chickey up at Turner's grade on his flathead Harley with the sidecar.

Not REALLY complaining, but at the time writing the $400 check seemed like a shafting.

I NEVER paid more than $150 in NY.

Just seems funny cause most states hide behind the "we are keeping the roads safe bullshit" and I was surprised to see Jersey take such a "we just want your money & screw the safety factor" approach.

Just get back out there and speed some more! :hysterical2:

One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey!

Well, there's too much traffic, I can't pass, no!

So I tried my best illegal move

A big black and white come and crushed my groove again......

I got the passport X50 in the house now so not too worried about it. :victory:

Well, I just got my first today. 84 in a 65. The cop was ok, but his supervisor showed up (called himself the "detail sargeant" whatever that means. He was a total a$$. Threatened to impound the car because I have a temp plate that was issued by Wisconsin for 90 days. He tried to tell me there is no such thing as a 90 day temp anywhere in the country, and therefore my temp must be forged???? The first cop finally called Wisconsin State patrol and they verified that they do indeed issue 90 day temps for new cars for out of state buyers. The second cop then asked me when I am planning on registering it. I told him I plan on waiting until the day before the temp expires. He just stalked off. I knew I was getting the ticket then. $165.00

when he asked u when u were goin to register it. i would have said something a little more tactful, "Sargent, since my registration is of concern to the State of Wisconsin, if you give me a highspeed escort to the revenue office we can get this taken care of in a very timely manner."
