How much is your insurance?

It's $120 per month for my car and my 98 Ranger together. They don't know I have any tickets somehow. They ran a check on me about 6 months ago.

Of course 2 of those tickets came since I bought the Shelby. The oldest one came in my '05 stang.

And yeah I'll be getting a lawyer for the next one. I don't think I can go 2 more years without another ticket.

On a serious note, I would get an attorney now and get at least two of those off the record. It can easily be done and would pay for itself in a 24 month period. I had to help a friend get it done once, and it actually worked.

It's getting really bad with those speed cameras, can't really argue those :banghead:

That's true. I've already decided my next mod will be an escort. The one ticket in June is one I'll never forget. I got that one the following Monday morning going to work the weekend after I bought the SGT. 2 cops on bikes couldn't catch me and I never even saw 'em. Got called down from work at my desk because they went around looking for the car and got lucky and found it. Protested it and lost in court.

No offense but attorneys are the only one to win if you go to court. You will generally lose and the attorney gets paid anyway.[

Help me out here LuLu.

If you have a ticket for a simple violation like this, you can hire an attorney and have it expunged from your record. I know of two people that work for larger corporations that had to have this done when changing jobs, before they could get their next company vehicle. One was as simple as getting a parking ticket off their record.

I'm not recommending you not pay your fine, or ticket. That doesn't have anything to do with this aspect. I'm just saying it may be worth the investment to have previous convictions (of a simple moving violation) removed from your record for insurability purposes.

Just my opinion.

Every ticket I have received in the past 10 years or so I have gone to court and they have reduced it to a lower speed or a non-moving violation. They just want the money, you pay either way. Twice they threw it out because the Cop never showed. I have not gotten a ticket in the past 3-4 years(Knock on wood), but before that I got emall the time. That was when I had my Guards Red Porsche 911 so I am sure that did not help.

Good luck

You definitely needed a lawyer on that one. If they lost sight of you and didn't have photo proof you should never have been convicted. Any lawyer would have used the argument that the cops were just picking on you because you had a car that looked like one that evaded them.

I had the same situation happen to me a few years ago. The trooper was after a green Mustang and I just happened to have one. I fought it in court and came out winning.

If the judge wants you to get a ticket then you're going to get a ticket. I'm not so lucky in this department. I have protested several on my own with what I thought were open/shut cases. I did talk to attornies before I went to court but none of them guaranteed me they could win in court.

I'll look into talking to an attorney to get some exspunged. Didn't know that was possible after I've already paid the ticket and it's already on my record. Maybe that would help. Thanks.

Mathematically, the next one should be on 9/15/08 :redcard::hysterical:

Some states also offer a driver's education class-pay the fine, then 2 boring hours on a weekday evening and then the ticket doesn't hit your record.

Yeah the last one I got the cop told me that too, but when I called to ask about it they told me it's not offerred if the ticket is 20mph over the speed limit. The last 2 I got are both 20mph over the limit. :finger:

well..so you have had contact with some of the brothers...you can do 2 things..slow down...or dont get an attitude on a traffic stop with one of the brothers...attitude is always a ticket from where i am standing which is usually looking at where you are sitting...this is what i have gleemed from years of experience in dealing with people getting these type of nasty grams....good luck with a lawyer...in most states department of motor vehicle considers driving a privledge and does not need any court permission to pull a license...it is at there discretion...

I think you need a new lawyer! :hysterical:

+10000000000. Driving is a privledge, that slays me everytime. I am sure Jefferson and the boys did'nt think horseback riding was a privledge. You need a better driving plan and a radar detector and a great traffic attorney! Bummer man.

The lawyer is for WHEN you get a ticket, not after you get this letter. So asskissing does not get you a ticket? Either way lawyers get you off. $300 a pop, bang no record, try it you'll like it! Smile, be cool, sign ticket then have someone meet them in court while you have a nice day at the beach... :hysterical2:

Re the speed cameras. I certainly do not agree with the concept. But in most states they do not have to prove who the drive is. It is a civil action against the vehicle. In many states with speed cameras you pay your fine and there are no points and it does not go on your record. The state of AZ has just proposed to balance the budget by authorizing many more speed cameras. I wish there was a license plate cover that worked against the cameras!

Ummm...I don't think I can offer much help/advice here. But, I find bull has the bases covered...

I can honestly say I have not had a ticket in 30 years. This doesn't mean I didn't get caught. But, that's passed now. I am Joe Citizen today and my "professional courtesy" as a LEO also retired.

Truth be known, I almost didn't get hired because of my "youthful adventures". Was a time in 1970, I had more money invested in cash bonds than I spent on my GMC 6:71 blower kit for my '69 BB Camaro.

Once I got the police job, I was always in some hot water over my driving habits, bosses yelled and yelled, even tried to suspend me. "It's a police car, not a battering ram!" "Motor patrol is not a demolition derby!" But...Who do you think they called to the front of the "snake" in a hot chase? Who did they call when hospitals needed to transport harvested organs to surgery?

I haven't changed, never will. So, I suppose for the next few years I'll be a kid again and I never leave the house without cash bond in my pocket. I expect I'll be getting one of these warnings myself someday.

Happy motoring, gents.
