Trailering

This obviously doesn't pertain to just '07's, but I was wondering who may be trailering their cars, and what type you using. Particularly interested in enclosed, aluminum, and low overall height (i.e. does it clear a 7' or 8' garage door). And no, I do drive it, but for long hauls, I prefer to trailer to keep miles down.

28ft featherlight tag. 12" added OAH. Very nice trailer.

The aluminum trailers only save you about 10% weight, so the cost may not always justify it unless you pick up a good deal. For a 20-24ft enclosed trailer I would try to find a local builder that uses box steel tubing (not I or C), puts a decent coat of paint on it, and charges 6-8Gs.

If you want the best and money is no object about 16k. Look at trilex trailers. They are located not far from me over in Ohio. I pulled my car into one and they are sweet. You can open the side of trailer and get in and out of your car without having to climb through your window and the car door doesn't hit the trailer and has plenty of clearence. Know 3 people that own one and they all brag about them. Used ones go for about the same as a new one so when you sell it you get your money back.

Hope to get mine soon.

I bought mine in Harrison, AR...You can have the drivers side door installed after the fact or when you order it...I bought what he had on the lot, Mine does not have the extra door & yes V nose is the only way to fly!

Turns out they have a dealer in my town. Sounds like the extra side door is a good idea and I agree with you on the V nose.

Thanks for the info.

Dan

I'll be getting a trailer to cut down on miles when attending some shows after the baby is born. Might be sooner, depends on how the wife is doing with the pregnancy.
