there is a private owner also selling a white with blue stripes; unfortunate profit taking. They got cars that real enthusiasts would enjoy keeping. That is the really crappy part of a limited production model.

yeah I saw that one and a blue one too. mallofgeorgiafordinternetsales is already influencing the bids too.

have you or anyone figured out what is really going on with them? Maybe they think they are gonna be the shelby brokers of the century. If they are not careful, they will manage to bring the ebay price to the point where they get the cars, but at a price point above what even the rich guys will pay. My experience with persons with real wealth is that they do not mind spending money for what they want, but they react very poorly if they feel that someone is trying to con them, such as with a very artificially raised price.

either that or somehow the mallofgeorgia is a shill being used to bid the price up. I am just very suspicious of the ebay sales and pricing.

I'm guessing shill.

But, if not, they've got the same pricing issues as everyone else. And if they bid above the actual market for the car or can't move the cars they buy quickly enough (...before pricing starts coming down...), they'll eat it in the end. If they aren't a shill, then they're playing a risky game.

I hope everyone that tries to pull something like this gets burned badly. I'd love to see each of them lose 40 or 50 grand.

Ford will build as many of these as they can sell. If that is above yearly plant capacity, they will keep adding years until we all have them.

Hopefully it will hit real soon and these clowns will still have the cars that they overpaid for.

/bitter rant off/

Same bidder does the same thing with the GT 40's...also watch out for a bidder that goes by quiet01 or something like that...bids up to within a few hunded of reserve..( You gonna tell me a dealer won't take 161,400.00 on a 161,800.00 sale) Yeah Right...

hahahha!!!

I replied, then they replied again:

technically this car has never been "titled". it is financed. and, yes, we have seen the listings for 65k. what would be the price you are willing to pay?

Thanks. I do wonder though, if you’ve seen other auctions on ebay for new, never titled cars with Buy it Now’s of $65k?

I pulled the bidder history from a recent ebay auction, and saw the same name several times in a row. What should I make of this? The obvious is that he is bidding against himself (stupid) or is a shill bidding up the price? Or is there something about ebay bidding that escapes me??

thanks

John

It's just the way EBay works. The bids go up in specified increments, i.e. $100. If the bid is at $50000, and you decide to bid $60000, and that $50K is the highest bid from the previous bidder, you would show up as high bidder at $50100. If someone else decides to bid $55000 after you, you would show up as high bidder at $55100. It would continue like that until you are outbid. Further, if the reserve isn't met before you bid, and you bid over the reserve, your current bid would show as what the reserve was.

To me it looks like Danstorino bid a decent amount over the high bid at the time, and someone else came in and bid it up in relatively small increments.

thanks for taking the time to explain. the numbers are from a local dealer I know, with a buy it now price of 28K adm. auction ended up at 60.1K, which did not meet his reserve. I guess some of the dealers will have to start setting their sights a little lower.

I thought the crazy high prices would last a little longer, but apparently not. I still expect to see 5 - 10 K adm for awhile, but nice to see the 20-25K adm dying down.

The faster the ADM's die the better for both Ford and those that really WANT the car to drive.

I hope these dealers that are trying to F:censored:k everybody end up F :censored: kin' themselves.

$10-k ADM on 5 cars beats $25-k on one, and then MSRP on the next 4. Then you get to take into account the flooring costs.

Idiots.

Thank God my orders are in already...

Hi Mike

Noticed a few posts from you on here tonight, welcome to the late night bad comedy show. I think we at least amuse ourselves with the jokes.

How soon do you expect your shelbies??? Gonna keep both?

I am working with a couple a small dealers, and may end up with 2 by the end of production. Not holding my breath though. If my wife does not end up wanting the second, I know I can find someone who would take it off my hands since I am getting a good deal on it.

Anyway, welcome, and always feel free to jump in.

This was the first one I saw on there. The thing that got me was I had just got back from a trip to Knoxville so I could have went over and saw it maybe added to the miles before it was gone. This reminds me of the XBOX - PS2 Ebay thing. If you get one before the people who really has to have it is it worth the cash to sell or enjoy it for yourself. Tough choice for some people not as fortunate as some with the endless bank accounts.

Will keep 1 for sure, the convertible, but doubt I can realistically justify keeping both.

I am SUPPOSED to be getting them both at MSRP, per my deposit receipt. But I really doubt the dealer is going to honor it without a fight. I'm figuring the fact that I have 2 on order gives me some leverage to meet in the middle if need be. (Me take 1st at MSRP, let them have 2nd to sell, IF I need to compromise).

If I actually do manage to get them to honor their original agreement (slim chance I think) then I already have a friend of mine that wants the 2nd car. If he doesn't take it, i'm sure I won't have any trouble getting rid of it, or maybe I will keep it after all...

Mike.
