i feel pretty sure that Ford and SAI will build another car next year, but i have NO idea what it would be. yall want to guess and see who wins. we should have a winner by Sept.

OK my guess is going to be GT350, but this is just a guess. anyone else or maybe suggestions???

this could be fun

I think they will build GT350 under this type of body style. If they changed the body to appear more modern, as in 2010, the GT350 would not sell as many cars as it would with the retro body like the 05-08 Mustangs are now. So my vote goes for the GT350 in 2009 too. Also Carrol now has someone to point him in the right direction, to follow the money so to speak i.e.: Ms. Amy. She knows how to make money and that is what Carrol has always lacked, the common sense to make money. But now with Amy he has that someone who'll make him huge dollars while making big cheese for herself and producing more cars. So yes a body style like the 05-08 would sell more GT350's than a newer more modern body.

I also have this to say: If SAI does not get the registry in control these cars, the newer ones, will have no legacy at all. They will be bunched together and so many will be cloned that they'll drop in value like a rock. He better get the registry back and soon if he and his family want to continue this Shelby legacy forever.

EDIT: It appears that the 2010 Mustang has a retro body too! So just maybe they'll do the GT350 in 2010? Yes it is confusing now!!!!!!

..

i seriously doubt we will not see a gt500...in 2009..this and anything else at this point is just a guess

+1. 2009 is supposed to be a short production year, with the redesigned 2010 model to be unveiled in the spring of '09. Under those circumstances, I can't see why the wouldn't build another 5000 to 6000 GT500 in '09 if demand remains strong.

I guess that I just don't see the name GT350 being a stimulus to any new buyers that for some reason are unmotivated (to buy)already. I think the people buying the SGT's are well informed enough to know what the car is, and that a GT350 "handle" makes a difference - is a little insulting.

More horsepower to me is a separate issue. The GT350 name was picked to avoid brand problems if the car failed, and had no associating with horsepower, or anything else.

Not to be controversial so much as just thinking out loud.

Guys, get with the program. They've been building and selling GT350s for 2 years now. Only a few dealers got them, though. Here's a link to a 2008 convertible:

:finger:

EDIT: Please note the sarcasm; I trust that everyone caught on immediately, but you never know...

Huh? Shelby GT, not GT350, joke right? Just because someone posts the name does not make it so.

Oh, I get it, got me!

I think they will build the gt350 with the 5.0 cammer engine.

Now that is an interesting concept!

In calendar year 2008 we will be building on the GT500 platform pre title. We have some great stuff coming for the 2010 model year and some other stuff as well.

There will be a 2009 GT500. There won't be a 2009 Shelby GT. I think there will be a 2009 GT500KR Convertible. I think there will be a 2010 GT350. Three colors of white with blue stripes, blue with white stripes and red with white stripes. Maybe a fourth of Grabber Orange if it is still around (It is Amys favorite). It will be 400 HP normally aspirated with a full performance suspension, maybe even a watts link or independent rear suspension. It won't have a tacked on hood scoop. :hysterical2:

Of course this is all speculation. :hysterical:

If they do a GT350, I am still very curious how/if they will be able to price it between the Shelby GT and the GT500. In other words, its MSRP will have to be in the neighborhood of $42 - 43K.

Amy posted the BJ Shelby GTs would be the last ones and that there wouldn't be a 2009. As for the GT500, I don't think it will be around forever. Could it be replaced by a 2010 Shelby GT350?

I just can't see them offering a GT350 for any less than that, $42-43K. And there will be so many newer Shelby's around that a GT350 just might not, just might not, reap huge ADM's. If they do have huge ADM's and the economy is like it is now, they'll lose out big time and then they'll have to give them away just like they are doing now. But we all know car dealers :banghead: , they crush you if they can, except Michael Morris of course-
