poohtang
What does anyone know about the 2 suspension options? Whats the difference in ride, handling, other?? The $100 is nothing. Where are the details/differences/pros/cons???? What about the window? Scoop or coverplate? The scoop looks good and is very 1970ish Shelby, but the cover is original 1965ish Shelby and cool too. Will the scoop do anything or just be drag? What's everyone doing?? SAI sent me a lower serial number but this time wants all the decisions when I send the paperwork in. Still swirling on the supercharger (why won't they stand behind the KB??), but at least know I will pick blue for the brakes (may car is Vista Blue). Poohtang There's a thread on here somewhere about the suspensions, but can't remember where. Try a search, there's too many topics to browse through. The original Mustang SuperSnake (picture here: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/14/ebay-fi...7-shelby-gt500/ ) had scoops, so I'm going with that. My preference would be louvres, but it's not offered. The SilverHorse louvres look great. My coupe is Vista Blue as well, but I'm thinking black for the brakes. Just conservative, I guess. Maybe I'll try photoshop to see what they might look like. What number did they move you up to? I got bumped from 390 to 250, but no requests for choices yet. Still too far away...

At this time I plan to go with the blue calipers because they remind me of Ford performance blue. The 700+ H.P.only goes with the eibach suspension so no choice there if you go with the 700+ version. I have heard from a number of people including Cynthia at SAI that this suspension rides a lot firmer than the Ford Racing which is offered only on the 600H.P. I am going with the side scoops because I think they really capture the feeling of the original even though they are not functional and will probably contribute to drag. Because my car is a 2007 I am planning on getting the 40th badges in addition the SS badges I was told that you can reserve your final decision on the choices until you are called up so I may change my mind on the H.P. version.I plan on doing a little more research on the warranty issue and the suspension ride differences before I'm called. poohtang
I was originally #401, complained and was moved to 278 last year (around August 07). Today (1/28/08) received letter lowering me to 238. I'm glad its going down but what's it all really mean?
MY500SS
I talked to Cynthia the other day and she said there is a gap in the CSM numbers for the SS. People with mid 200 and up numbers could be reassigned lower numbers.

Poohtang The FRPP Suspension is a good performance package that give a softer ride. The Shelby/Eibach Package is a stiffer package, but has a greater range of adjustability (1 inch over the FRRP package) so you can better dial it in for say drag racing or road rally, etc. It seem to be the concusses that the S/E package is better for racing but will give a bouncer ride, therefore better suited for the extra power of the 700+ package which would be more likely to see more drag strip time. The FRRP package is better suited for the 600 package and convertibles because offers a softer (less bouncy) ride while providing a good suspension package. Generally people getting the 600package are looking for more of a comfortable streetcar with some extra ponies under the hood to have fun. It real depends on how & where you will be driving your car as well as what kind of ride you what. Some people have changes their minds and gone from the S/E to the FRRP package because they don't what to get bounced around while driving down the road. I think I’ve summed it up fairly accurately, anyone out there jump in if I missed anything.
'69fstbk/'07gt500
I guess that you have to ask for a lower number huh??? Why would I not be offered a lower #? I can't believe that you need to ask that they don't go though the list sequentially to see if you want a lower # rather than you having to call and ask!!! What happens if I'm busy and don't have the time to harrass a CORPORATION!!! Nor did I ever think that there was a need to do so!! No offense to anyone here but that is BULL!!!! Don't qoute me, and I can't remember who said it. But I think they are going by the date people paid their deposits. If that is true, when they called you, you would be reassigned a lower build number. But call them anyway, and let us know what you find. I think they are currently calling people that paid in June. Nice job summarizing- Everything you stated agrees with what I have been told in numerous conversations with SAI. Everyone I spoke to made a point of saying that the S/E package is better suited for performance driving but will definately ride much firmer. If 278 just went to 238, maybe I'll get another one.
crispy23c
The reason that we aren't warrantying the 725+ HP package is simple: The 605 HP uses a Ford Racing S/C, so Ford Motor Company has a warranty for this S/C if it is installed by a qualified dealer (which we are). The 725+ HP package uses a Kenne Bell S/C, which in no way is affiliated with FoMoCo, so it voids the powertrain warranty. I hope that this clarifies it for you. By installing a Non-Ford aftermarket S/C, the warranty on the drivetrain becomes void. Scoops or plates? Is this ice cream parlor talk??? Seriously, either way, it looks great!!! Don't be too worried about drag, you got the POWER!!! Nice summary on the suspension...
intguys
Has anyone gotten to feel the difference in ride quality between the two suspensions on either of the supersnakes? I keep hearing people say that the ffrp has a softer ride than the s/e I will mostly be driving on the streets with the occasional track time so I wondering how rough the S/E suspension really is? By the way, I'm getting the 725+ and I had the option of either suspensions.

You can check pages 3 & 4 of "For 600hp SS upgrades people only" No one has driven it they just talk about it.
