jvmax
ok, so I just bought a 2006 GT-H and was wondering if those who bought one already never changed the title (ie. register it in your name). I have the original Arizona Title with Hertz LLC as the owner in Phoenix.

jvmax
Your not going to drive it? definitely driving it. I know with some older cars, owners just keep an open title. On new cars, owners never title and keep them MSO. Dealers can do this with a dealer plate, but I know private owners also do this by putting on a license plate from one of their other cars when driving it---just dont get pulled over... Benzito
I guess not titling it will save you a couple bucks in registration fees each year, but if your idea is that keeping in titled with Hertz will somehow increase the value later, I doubt it. Everyone knows now (and will in the future) that Hertz auctioned off all the cars after their rental lives. So you won't be fooling anyone. Reino2
Dont know about other states but an open title in VA = towed car + ticket + court date + fine. But hey, everything has its price.
CSX1001
I am the owner of CSX1001 AC Cobra previously owned and titled to Carroll Shelby. I wanted to keep the original title for historical reasons and collector value so I checked with Illinois Sec Of State about titleing. I was able to title CSX1001 and Keep the original title. The state just stamped (Cancelled in Illionis) on Carrols original title and gave it back to me. You may want to check with your state. CSX1001
Wow, what a car! Could we implore you to post some pictures in the Cobra forum? I have some pictures of CSX1001 in my gallery... I 'm still learning my way around in this environement and would love to post pics of CSX1001 and Carroll signing the car and presenting me with title etc. I even have pics of it being in raw aluminum and during the build. Some pics taken at AC in England.
