Covercraft covers

I bought a Covercraft (NOAH) cover and it doesn't cover the front fascia. The very bottom is exposed. I decided to order a Weathershield cover (better) and I asked why the cover I have doesn' quite fit and they looked into it and said I need the GT500 cover. The one they have listed for the Shelby GT is the same as the standard GT and that's why it doesn't fit. The GT500 is the one that the ordering software should be selecting and it isn't. I checked a few online companies that sell Covercraft and all their software selects the standard GT cover.

Be afraid! Be very afraid!

I took the advice of several of the forum users and selected a california car cover!!!

I could not be more pleased the fit was PERFECT!! I also added a cobra and had SGT4648 embroidered.

The location is on the cover where the grill area is.

I selected the plush cover which is super soft outside and has a flannel lining. You could wrap a baby up in this! So i wrap my baby up in this!!!

Car cover $199.99

Cobra snake logo $20.00

SGT4648 Embroidered $20.00

THE PERFECT CAR COVER !!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

When you ordered it from CCC...did you order it as a gt500 or a Mustang GT? Any special instructions? Such as spoiler delete? or letting them know it's for a SGT?

I ordered a Coverking Cover. They have a specific application for the California Special front and rear facias. Fits perfect.

http://www.coverking.com/customcarcovers.html

The real burn is that the Covercraft online dealers have a specific choice for the 2007 SGT. However, if you look at the Covercraft part number it is the same as the standard GT. On questioning the fit with my online dealer, he forwarded it to Covercraft and they said the GT500 cover is what I need. Again, all the online dealers I've checked, who handle Covercraft, have the same problem.

That is because they all use the same software database from CoverCraft.

Covercraft screen prints the part number on the front of all their covers so the easiest solution is for someone with a GT500 to post the part number here so others can specify that exact cover when placing an order.

Steve

PS- As I've mentioned in the past CCC's are made by CoverCraft.

I have the Ford mudtang GT cover. It was for my 06 GT that I sold when I bought my SGT. My wife got it for my bday a year and a half ago. Anyway when it came time to put the SGT to bed I was worried it wouldnt fit. I put in on and it fits fine. It covers the entire nose and rear with no issues.

Do you have a photo of your car wrapped in this cover -- a photo showing the Cobra and what you had embroidered? Thanks. Jim

I would not mind seeing a pic either, I am looking into an indoor cover for when it is parked in the garage. I just bought my house, first one built, 9 more to go in the Cul-de-sac so the construction dust is always around. Not to mention, with 2 year old twin boys it might prevent a scratch or 2.

Before purchasing a car cover I searched every where for one that would keep the dust off the car. Needless to say when the "Dust" settled I purchased two of the Cover Craft Noah covers, one for the 66' and one for the 07SGT. I have the GT500 spoiler so I ordered accordingly, it is very tight. As for dust control it keeps all the dust off the cars and I live where dust is KING.

Great product but don't tug on it to hard, it will tear.

Happy New Year everyone.

OK I blew it! LOL

The covers I bought were made from the "Dust Stop" material.

Sorry for any confusion.

If anyone is looking for a cover to absolutely keep dust off their car this is the product.

AZ has some of the worst dust in the West.

Hope this helps.

:D :)

Very nice 4648, do you have a website or phone number? Is that an indoor cover, that is what I am looking for. How did you explain the Cobra and lettering? I think it looks great. Also, I assume you take the Antenna off before covering it?

Thanks

Thanks , The only work i have to do on this cover is to put a little hole for the antenna , then install the plastic non scratch grommets. Then i wont need to take the antenna off.

The CoverCraft PATTERN numbers are:

Shelby GT #16728

Shelby GT500 #16968

So when you order a cover make sure the part # contains one of the above pattern numbers for a correct custom fit.

Leave it to the expert to include the most useful info!

I have been searching for a new cover, as some jerk stole mine right off my car last night.

Must have liked my lock and cable, cause they're gone too! It was 5 years old, elastic was worn out, dirty... oh well!

I have been comparing prices on Covercrafts and have seen part # C16649TK being recommended for the SGT convertible... or C16649RS

Will ask these places if they carry ones with C16728

Every place I've shopped at online seems to have poor photos of the covers, limited info or not in stock.

Will let you know who actually gets my business later!

I found a deal on a factory ford car cover. (made by CoverCraft) It's an inside cover p/n 5R3Z-19A412-EA. It was simply for a Non-spoiler Mustang. I think it fits great. I love it. It even had a label right on the box that it was shipped to ford from CoverCraft. Here are the pics of it on my 07 Shelby GT. I lucked into a deal on two so I sold the other on the forum to another member. He said he loved his also.

I have two in the Technalon™ "Evolution™" fabric, one blue on the coupe and almost four years old (guarantee length) and a year-old tan one on the convertible. They work well with regard to dust. I make it a point to do a California Duster treatment before putting them on the cars; otherwise they get the grit on the inside and do something not very good to your wax job and finish.

After a couple years in the sun, off and on, the blue one has begun leaving its own dust on the car; seems as if the fabric - non-woven - begins to lose something, and becomes dust. Fine dust, not particularly abrasive, but dust. The soft gray lining has worn off at car-contact points, so the blue is beginning to show through when viewed from the back.

I ordered them both in "Mustang GT" size and shape, and they both fit well over the pedestal wing and the "KR" wing, and the GT/CS (SGT) front and rear fascia, with not much slack. The blue one's elastic went limp a couple of months ago. I bought some 3/8-inch elastic from a sewing shop, two packages of about four feet each. With a safety-pin I worked them into a hole I cut in the cover at the end of the sewed-in formerly-elastic piece (a flat rubber strip) and through the channel to the other end of the formerly-elastic piece. I pulled the new elastic until it was about as gathered as the other, one-year-old cover's, and sewed each end to the fabric. Works as good as new, front and rear.

I have had bad luck with the circular plastic "no-scratch" grommets intended to allow putting the cover on without removing the antenna. Despite my best efforts, they all (four, over the years) have resulted in tears at the edge of the hole. My solution on the current covers was to make a two-layer, three- or four-inch patch of old purse leather, cut a 1-inch circular hole in the center, ask my wife to sew the patches together with a seam around the hole only, slip the inner patch through the rip/hole in the cover, and glue the patch layers to the inside and outside of the cover, shiny leather to the weather, soft, chamois-like side facing the car. The patches have worked perfectly on both covers for six months or so now.

The Evolution covers are moisture-repellent, but it comes through to the surface of the car, if heavy enough. I leave the cover off the outdoor car (coupe) when it seems likely to rain, and live with the slight dampness on the car surface if I have to remove it before it dries after a heavy dew.

I ended up getting my cover from American Muscle, as they had by far the cheapest price, had it in stock, and even gave me a slight discount so I could get the express delivery option.

It fits perfectly on my convertible, tucking under the rear and front facias. I had to order a cable and lock, so went with one from Masterlock off Amazon.com, as the lock is bigger and hopefully not as easy to pick as the luggage lock I'd used on the cover that got stolen.

I spent today painting my license plate # and CSM # all over the cover, hopefully to deter the banditos that prowl the alleys of the city.
