The make really cool caliper covers that look like you have brembos. A much cheaper alternative. I am waiting to hear back from them to see if they fit our cars.

Anybody ever see this site?

I could not get that site to come up. I changed the address to http://www.calipercover.com/ and it came up, but was labeled http://www.mkbcustoms.com/ Is this the same thing? Jim

well does anybody have any thought on them?

They look nice, no doubt our stock calipers are ugly as sin. Question is covers or do the brakes. Someone on Stangs Unleashed just posted a test between an STI and our GT, they are pretty similar on the spec sheet but the STI out stopped us by 20ft from 60 thats pretty significant they have a 4 piston caliper on 13" rotors. I think the Baer extremes are just that extreme the calipers are huge, I'd like to find some middle ground both price and size wise that work.

If all you are looking for it appearance, then these will do it for sure. Hopwever if you have the SC and really want to stop better then you better get the real deal. Otherwise the appearance is very good.

I equate "caliper covers" with a vist to my local "Men's Warehouse", where I know they say "we'll made you look good". They promise, and they do okay when I need a new suit for some special event. However, making me look good doesn't mean I am all that good inside their suits. Shake off this clothing and I am who I am underneath. Performance is everything, what it's all about. Anyway...

Take another peek at SAI offerings? Their 14" BearClaw kit? Yeah, it's a smaller kit than what else SAI offers, but it's just as dependable and reassuring, and you don't need to buy new wheels.

Add to this front brake kit, a matching 14" rear BearClaw brake kit?

I know my humble opinion doesn't mean squat here, but I used this BearClaw kit back in '03 on my Kenny Brown Marauder S, a 4500 pound supercharged luxo-barge putting down unbelieveable RWHP and RWTQ for a car that was essentially an over-dressed housebrick.

70 MPH to zero MPH braking skid-pad numbers were under 170 feet, and sometimes better, depending on tires, PSI, road conditions, and other factors. Want to stop fast, but not spend a ton of money on six pot oversized calipers and rotors? Look at the middle ground?

Lighter car + less raw HP and TQ, and compatability with stock wheels = SAI's BearClaw combo...

Works for me.

Kenny taught me that "control is power" and controlling your brakes is also power, and also a part of winning races. Look around again?

Just my .02C gents, carry on...

And please, no e-mails about "give me a brake"...LOL!

Why not just have the calipers powder coated? Would look better than stock, give you a wide range of color options, be really durable and you know it would fit your stock wheel because it wouldn't add any size to the caliper (and would probably be even cheaper than the $100 per wheel).

snap out of it LuLu, your contributions here are very much appreciated, dont let other opinions, regardless of how strong they are to deter you, I for one want your technical and knowledgible posts to continue, I read them all and am much more automotively educated for it.

Thank you for your input.

I wasn't fishing for a compliment, but thank you very much for your kind words.

Actually, this is a keen idea, I've done this myself on other cars. Maybe some of the folks here who have upgraded their brakes have some spare parts lying around that you can prep without disturbing the car? Then, it's an afternoon of swaping out calipers and bleeding the system.

OTOH...I've used this stuff too, with just as good results as powdercoating, and it's just 15 bucks a kit with enough to do all four wheels.
