66DNA
HOT NEWS EVERYONE! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark your calendars!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS :o :P ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the same reply I just did on SU. Hang in their, the fix is coming soon. Look, Amy JUST DID update all of you. But the problem is, everybody wants to start their own thread. So now we have 20 threads about hood scoops. And I know that most people saw it but won't comment on it. So now we have 20 threads of people bashing the hood scoop. So here it is again for those who have not seen Amy's recent update. Yes, we are using rivets to hold the hood scoop down. BUT, the dealers do not want to do the repair. So, we are trying to find another way to make it easier for the shops to do it. John Walker is also coming up with a plan to help you all out too. He can be contacted at Johnw@shelbyautos.com We should know more in the next week or two on how this is going to work. So please, baer with us on this, we are working on it and we will get it resolved. Now I am off to try and find the other 19 threads to reply too. Bud --------------------------------------------------------------------------- You only have to find 18 of those threads - since I have found and read the GOOD NEWS! My post, with over 1,100 views and nearly 70 replies from interested SGT owners should be happy to learn that a Hood Scoop Resolution is on its way in one to two weeks!!! Question: If there are 20 threads....maybe SAI should "take a hint?"

66DNA
Oh, Oh, you are going to banned from this site. Banned? I'm jubilant! I've been waiting for months to even "hear" something. Still have not received the courtesy of a returned message sent to Amy? Not certain why you believe that I would be banned? No name calling...nothing said that was nasty, wrong, inappropriate, etc. I just want a hood scoop that looks like it belongs on a $40K car! Reino
I just got my 07 and the scoop is perfect. Now does the scoop warp with time or is this warped from Shelby? The one problem everybody seems to have is the scoop. This is something that apparently happens with time and with the cold weather coming you may start to see warpage. I have not yet but I have a later production car, #5172, and have only had it about 3 months. I hope I dont have the problems others are having. And having to wait for 6-8 months, or longer, like some have I think I would be very irritated as they should be, and are. You shouldnt have to wait this long to have a piece fixed that makes the car look bad as well as making SAI look horrible. But hey, If the resolution to this problem is right around the corner thats great for everyone. Almost like an early Christmas gift to those of you with the bad scoops! Budman340
I think you shoud reread what I wrote......... I said we should know more in the next week or two on how this is going to work---NOT A finale fix is ready in the next week or two. But I'm hoping that it is. When it is FINALLY finalized, I will post and pin it to the boards. I would still personally contact John Walker at Johnw@shelbyautos.com. I believe at the moment (until it changes) he is looking at these on a one on one basis. Keep the faith folks, its just around the corner. ZepDad
For the group, I emailed John at Shelby Autos on Nov 1. No response yet. I'm hoping this isn't a sign... Maybe he's waiting on the new resolution to be announced. I hope so because my scoop is as bad as it gets (see photos). I emailed John again. Maybe the second time is the charm. sdear
I know I "said" i wouldn't post for 2 weeks about hood scoops, but Jeff, here I go : I have done alot of questioning about the hood scoops the past several months, as alot of us have. John contacted me yesterday, and the new scoop should be to my dealer next week !! My mechanic at ford is more than willing to do the work, and has alot of riveting experience. I trust this guy completely, he works on every mustang, Cobra, Shelby in this area. John has been great returning my calls the last few days, and has already contacted my dealer to get the process rolling. They are sending the 08 hood scoop, and it will be rivted on, and SAI is standing behind it. I have to say my ford dealer has 3 08's on the lot, and the scoops look awesome. They are completely flat and they look so much better than ANY scoop I have seen on any 07 !!! ( i checked all 3 scoops lol ) I want to thank John for staying in touch the last few days, and I apologize for some of my rantings on these boards, but let's chalk it up to lesson learned on improved communications :P You can bet I will post pics once the hood scoop is on !! Here are the two verts the dealer had....and they had a coupe on the floor I also want to add, that Steve at Tampa Bay Shelby is willing to do the fix as well. He is in Pinellas Park for all you Florida people. I only went with my Ford dealer because he is in town, and Steve is about 70 miles away..but he will be doing my lower grill and light kit soon !! The guy in the white shirt told me to quit taking pictures and just sign the papers !! I told him the black one I own is enough tyvm :D :P
mywickedshelby
Great news Sue,...and thank you John. But I dont think you need to apologize to anyone Sue, this HAS dragged on for months and you never "crossed" the line IMO. You made inquiries as to the status and expressed some frustration as to the lack of answers. Congrats on what we all hope is "the answer".
