sdear
Tell us about using the Porter Cable for the first time. Did you use the high speed polisher on the stripes, and plastic parts (front and rear bumper)? The porter cable was very easy to use. I only used it on the large areas, and did the other areas by hand. I did not go over the stripes since this was my first time using it, i did those by hand. They "say" you can not hurt your paint with one of these" alot of good info at www.properautocare.com . I use Blackfire products. The front and rear bumpers I also did by hand. I don't feel experienced enough to use it on the stripes and bumpers. After a few coats of protectant, i put a thin coat of carnuba on with my finger tips and buffed off. I used the porter cable for the polish and coats of protectant. The car looks awesome in real life, the pictures dont do it justice.

I was afraid the polisher could get away from me and burn the paint. This afternoon my car got a once over including Cali duster, Kozak rag, Meguiar' Quik Detail, and Texas Shine (tire). It later got a 'swivel head' as I turned into the parking lot of Whole Foods.

Did you use the high speed polisher on the stripes, and plastic parts (front and rear bumper)? The P/C will not burn your paint unless you are trying to burn the paint and even then you would have to work at it. It's super easy to use and yes you can use it on your stripes (with caution) and bumper covers. Switch to a clean pad and it works great on the glass as well. I never run mine above a 4 when leveling, waxing or polishing and let the P/C do the work. Don't force it. Also just use the foam pads and stay away from the "bonnets" that go over them. They shred the pads to pieces. As you can see from Sue's car, they are well worth the money. http://forum.shelbyautos.com/index.php?s=&...indpost&p=17786

Here is the kit I have : http://www.properautocare.com/weovfireshki.html the guy that showed me how to use it put a soft cloth wrapped around the cord so it doesnt bang the car . He told me to use it at the 3-4 setting .
