HARALD KELLEY
Anyone know where you can get the HERTZ front fender emblems?
mmcgrath100
I'm guessing SAI *might* have replacements, but might insist that you return the originals or otherwise prove you are the registered owner (to cut down on cloning).
GT-H #387
Anyone know where you can get the HERTZ front fender emblems? The Hertz fender badges need to be replaced on my GT-H also due to the chrome plating flaking off. When I questioned SAI about replacements, they told me to go through the Ford warranty process. GT-H #387
I THOUGHT THESE WERE POLISHED ALUMINUM ??????? Polished aluminum.... chromed plastic is more like it. I've seen more than one of these emblems with the finish coming off. I've also seen where a detailer has buffed the chrome off of one. Unlike the SGT the car is not sold by Ford. Seems strange. Hertz bought the cars, shipped to SAI, they converted them, then they were resold. Not sure where Ford comes in on this but stranger things have happened!

GT-H #387
Thanks for the info Amy! I'll call Keith next week. Bryan Just wanted to add an update to the fender badge saga. I emailed Ford warranty regarding this issue and they forwarded my email to both Kieth with SPP and to Doug with SAI. Doug emailed be back stating that the badges are available for $30 each to a valid GT-H owner and I would have to send them the old badges before they would send the new ones. He also stated that the 07 badges differ a little from the 06 badges. Quote: "The 07 emblem is slightly different from the 06. The 06 has black between the ribs of the background of the HERTZ letters; the emblems that I have are all chromed plastic." Bryan
nolastyankee_merged
Bryan, You may be able to enlighten the Ford folks a little! I just had this conversation with John Walker at Shelby two weeks ago while I was at SEMA. The '06 coupe prototype (in the SAI museum) has a Hertz badge with black between the ribs, but that is the only one made that way. From experience I can tell you that all of the production '06 badges I have seen (40+ cars) are all chrome. I'm not sure about the '07 badges, but I believe they are the same as the '06 badges. HARALD KELLEY
My badges are faded and mostly show white (plastic) Any success in removing them to mail to SAI? I was also told that some of the earlier fender badges were installed with pins. This was info from SAI. Any thoughts or comments
nolastyankee_merged
Per a discussion I had with the folks at Shelby a month back, all GT-H replacement parts (badges, stripes, etc) can be purchased through Shelby Performance Parts. For GT-H items listed above you will need to prove ownership and may be required to send the part back to them. I was told they had a limited stock of Hertz badges. From experience I can tell you that all badging on the -H cars are pinned, even the Shelby letters out back. SAI went away from pinned badging after our car. HERTZ06
A question for MM. When you had the missing Hertz fender emblem was there any holes in the fender for the pin type fender emblem. Thanks.
EricM
A question for MM. When you had the missing Hertz fender emblem was there any holes in the fender for the pin type fender emblem. Thanks. There will be holes in the Fender, because it started as a Mustang GT, which has a pinned emblem. The Cal Special is the base for the S-GT, so no GT emblem, no holes.
