The forums here are much better than the srtforums. People here are so much friendlier and helpful compared to the other. Even when I asked some pretty dumb questions (imo at least!) Funny how many of us have tried that "other" forum....only to gravitate back here. I posted there 5 times and found the discussion, well not for me. I posted here over 700 times and cant wait to come back everyday. and meeting the guys and gals from our site has made that feeling of family a reality. Then I went to something different and tried to post it was the same massage. Is it just me. Is it because I didn't sign up for Team Shelby or what. I think it was because I registered with a @yahoo.com account a while ago (or maybe I switched my email to my yahoo email after I registered). If you try to sign up and it does not work, it is because you don't have a valid IP number to your computer, which is required. Valid IP numbers are unique to your computer connection. dave c Posted October 31, 2007 Report Share Posted October 31, 2007 Wow, the winds of change . I agree with all of you, this is a nice little family here, with a forum dedicated to Shelby GT's. I don't like the other forum as much, doesn't seem as friendly. But we all need to stick together and stay in contact. I have met some of you in person and talked with some on the phone. This place is just full of great people. Whether it be births, deaths, marriages, anniversary's or birthdays, it seems that we tend to let our guards down and feel comfortable. Yes, we have our disagreements, but what family doesn't. (we love to bitch). I would encourage you all to move over to the Shelby Team so we can continue with our car stories and adventures with our Shelby's. Who knows, hopefully we'll have a reunion someday so we can all meet up. Hopefully in Vegas, with a well thought out plan, well in advance . Our cars are similar so I look lurk here for issues and ideas such as the foglights behind the grille idea, feelings about the car as far as handling, and because you guys are not crude/rude/or closed minded. On several occasions, during gt350 conversations I think, you have stated that this car, the SGT, stands on its own merit, its not a gt350 and wasnt intended to be. Many of us have visited the stangsunleashed forum in an attempt to have a conversation about our SGT'S, only to get bombarded from GT500 owners about how lame the SGT is, that its overpriced for what you get,how they have the real Shelby, etc, etc. Obviously, SGT owners would beg to differ. In reaction to that, many of us have made a posting home here, where the SGT reins supreme. Now the sites are being merged and not only do we first hear of the merger from a GT500 owner from that site, but some of us have gotten bashed right out of the box over there this week. Again, this is only a suggestion, and I am in no way telling you how to run your business, this is only a CONSTRUCTIVE suggestion as you have many times eluded to would be acceptable. Maybe some forum moderation needs to be instilled on that other forum by you as a pre-emptive strike and they can be instructed that SGT bashing will not be tolerated or they will be shut out. As we have been told many times in the past. Normally I would not ask the teacher to intervine, but I fear that as these battles intensify, and we will no doubt lose the contributions of some valuable members over the sgt/gt500 argument getting out of hand. The prospect of this eventuality is what makes many of us uncomfortable about the merge. We are outnumbered and I dont mind that so much. I can defend myself with out problem, regardless of the odds, but the first couple of weeks over there are going to be a mess if this just left to meat itself out. I can understand the bigger better more choices approach, but I dont want to see my SGT brothers and sisters bale out and go away because posting becomes a daily confrontation.
