AFBLUE
I've mentioned before that I've got a fiber glass hood from Trufiber/Alliance. It's functional i.e. flows air from the scoop to directly over the CAI location. Ironically it's called the Cobra Roadster hood. http://alliance247.com/product.php?pid=946...17a8b35a31e2463 What if SAI sold Trufiber hoods? It would give you a look similiar to the SGT, would be fuctional, and you wouldn't have to worry about hood scoop gap issue. Plus it would harken back to (and look similar to) the fiber glass hood offered on the 1965 GT-350 (also with a functional hood scoop) I've got mine already and plan to use it on my SGT, but would anybody else be interested? If there was a lot of interest maybe SAI and Alliance could work out a deal to offer it via the Shelby catalogue and/or mod shop (and no I don't own stock in either company )
pottydr_merged
sweet hood, How much did you pay fot it? I didnt see the price
AFBLUE
$500 + shipping. Right after I got it, they had a sale where shipping was free. Just my luck. I bought this hood for my now cancelled 2008 Silver Metallic Mustang GT (cancelled it for the 08 SGT).
BriMac
Good looking hood. Did they confirm whether it will clear the strut tower brace? Could not find price either, just $150 shipping!
AFBLUE
Good question. Not sure if it will clear the strut tower brace (I guess I'll find out). The Trufiber folks probably can answer that question as they knew it wouldn't work with a Saleen supercharger. I spoke with the owner of the car in the bottom picture with the chrome whipple. He said it just rubbed a little where the heat shield was. The whipple CAI heatshield is taller than the SGT/FRP CAI heat shield. He did some slight filing and it works fine now. Couple more pixs of underside.
ShelbyGT/SC
Great idea AFB. Regarding the clearance over the strut tower brace, I'm wondering that since it clears over that Roots-type blower, maybe it would clear the strut tower brace. Just a thought. I really love the current SGT hood and scoop. I also like the hood you've shown too. I wonder if they have that hood with a slightly larger scoop and rivets. There was a thread a while ago where Amy said that they were looking at different hoods. Hopefully she can give us an update??? Great find AFB. SWEDESHELBY1
Very well thought out hood. I also would bet that the HP rating would increase due to the air-flow-discharge is right on the cold air kit. I think SAI would have done something like this but they had to act fast to get the SGT to market. Also that hood, amoung other things, would have taken to long to pass FOMOCO's testing and warranty issues. Nice hood I like it.

MattInDetroit
Is there a hood blanket available or does the stock one work?
blueshawk
I would go for it if the scoop looked like the SGT scoop.
