Rainmaker
There is are a number of GTH showing up on ebay and with Michael Morris' comments about the ones being sent through the auctions I am wondering what kind of history such as wrecks, damage, etc. can be found out about these? I see in descriptions where they say somthing like "no evidence of damage" but do they know? I don't think a carfax would be of any help, but as the prices get lower I am leaning toward a GTH instead of a SGT. Any help would be appreciated. OZSOME
:D I bought one of the GTH s from Michael Morris the end of June and I'm very satified with both the car and the excellent service that Mike and Chris gave me at Wayne Morris Ford in Perry Ga. I drove the car from Atlanta airport. To Virginia @ about 650 miles and could't wipe the smile off of my face the entire way. I also have an original low milage 1966 GT350H so it takes a lot to out do a ride in it. To answer your quary regarding these cars. I got lucky and got one that was being rented in Columbus, Oh. This is a working class mid america area, unlike the party cities such as Vegas, Miami, Boston, etc. If you buy one try to find the rental city. You're less likely to get one that has been abused. Mine didn't even have a door ding. By the way the next pony for my stable is a RED 2008 Super Snake. Give Michael a call and I'm sure he can help you since he's sold over 12 of the GTH. mmcgrath100
Ditto on Oz' compliments of Michael and Chris. I know that lawyers and used car dealers always get a bad rap, but the three of us are diamonds in the rough (I'm a divorce lawyer, no less). Or birds of a feather? :D I am eagerly awaiting the paperwork on the GT-H I purchased this week, then I have to knock myself out for the week or two that it will take to ship it out to the West Coast! My dad coincidentally keeps asking when he can come visit . . . . I recall there was a prior thread which described a way to find out the rental city through a combination of Carfax and other use of the VIN. The dealer you bought it from or SAI should probably be able to tell you that as well if you have the CSM. Mike (in Portland)
chilli bullitt
Between a Carfax and possibly talking to someone at the Hertz location it was rented from should be the best ways to find out. I have heard that somewehre in the neighborhood of 15 were totalled why in the rental fleet. If it is listed on E-Bay make sure it has a clear title instead of a salvage one. dan stryffeler
I also bought mine from Wayne Morris Ford in Perry, Ga. Chris was great to work with as was everyone else. CarFax reported the city in Florida that the car was delivered to - I'm assuming the Hertz rental agency was there. Drive back to Ohio was great - Fun Car!
