Well I checked the VIN tracker today and it's official 07SGT4009 is Completed & Shipped and on its way to Iowa! Dealer said arrrival by Friday or Monday of next week. As I've told many of you on this forum I've waited a long time for this car. I ordered it last December from my dealer, it took 4 months to get a VIN, arrived at Shelby in April and they just finished my mods last week. It's been a dream of mine to own a "Real Shelby" since I first saw a restored 1966 GT 350H Hertz car when I attended a car show way back in 1979. That car was for sale for then for $15,000, which was about a years salary at the time and I couldn't afford it. Since then I have watched as the prices on the older cars went the roof and my dream got further and further away. Then when the 2006 Hertz cars were made I wanted and almost bit on one of those, but when the news on the 2007 Shelbys broke I took the plunge and ordered one. I didn't get a supercharger but ordered other mods that are listed in my signature. The only down side is the car is scheduled to come when I'm in South Carolina taking my daughter back to college. Oh well, whats another day or two when I've waited almost 30 years. I must say the forum has been a great help for information and commesuration as I've waited for my car. I appreciate all those that have listened to my impatient rants. Thanks as well to Amy, John, Bud and all the staff at SAI who are working their butt's off to make it all happen! I'll post pictures probably next week sometime after it arrives and I get back from the deep south. Dave

Congratulations Dave!!!!!! We know the pain of a very long wait. The car will exceed your expectations. It won't be long before you soon get to enjoy it and you will!!!! If you think about sleeping better now, forget about it. That won't happen until after you get it. LOL When you're down to just hours the anxiety is incredible. Hang in there.

Dave

Has your daughter considered taking a semester off?

She's on a volleyball scholarship and practice starts in about ten days, so no semester off for her. She's not that excited about her dad getting a Shelby but her boyfriend is! Funny how that works. Fortunatley for my wife and I the scholarship helps out so her dad can buy his toys and not spend all his money on tuition. :)

Duh! Sorry I should have seen that! Yes for sure....not far at all! We're only half way through the summer and 80 is a nice smooth road to exercise on. ;)

IA,

Congrats, you have waited an eternity for your car. I know you will be pacing just as I was. You will not be sorry, these cars are AWESOME! More fun than you can even imagine at this time.

So very happy for you and wish you the best with your new "Child."

Have fun.
