xcr440sp
Ford just posted the allocation plan for the 1000 GT500KR's. Still doesn't answer who's getting them, though. _______________________________________________________________________ : All Ford Dealers Subject: EFC0700640DC 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR Allocation Plan Details of the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR Ford Division is excited to announce the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR! Celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the original Shelby Cobra GT500KR, Ford and Shelby collaborate on a new 'King of the Road' Mustang with the 2008 Shelby GT500KR. Shelby GT500KR features an estimated 540-hp 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack, 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, short-throw shifter, and unique suspension tuning. Exterior design draws inspiration from the classic Shelby KR Mustangs and features unique carbon composite hood, wheels, and special 40th Anniversary badging and unique striping. Shelby GT500KR arrives in spring 2008 in an exclusive run of only 1000 units. Allocation Plan The limited production numbers made it necessary for the GT500KR to have a unique allocation plan. Dealers will have three opportunities to earn allocation: Random drawing at the 2007 National Dealer Forum, which occurred in June. Greatest of All Time Truck Leadership Fast Start Mustang Shelby GT500 KR Lottery. Hit your objective in July and you will be entered in to random lottery drawings for 2008 Shelby GT500 KR allocation. All remaining GT500KRs will be distributed via a random lottery drawing: Each Region will earn allocation based on the Region's share of 2006 & 2007 retail Mustang sales. All 18 Regions (17 Contact/1 Select) will earn allocation. Dealers in the Select Dealer Region will be entered in to the Select Dealer Region drawing and not in to their facing Contact Region's drawing. Example: Region A earned 10% of the Mustang GT 500KRs based their 2006 & 2007 retail sales. Dealer ABC, who sold 5% of Region A's retail Mustangs would then receive 5% of the total "dealer chips" allocated for Region A's random draw lottery. I wonder if its the same guy on e-bay we are talking about. (coupe?) I e-mailed him awhile back and asked him how he could offer a car that he wasn't sure whether he was getting. He wrote me back and said, sir the car is 100,000 and I suggest you go stick your head in the sand and look. Now is that very professional for a dealer? He had no clue at the time he posted it on ebay he was getting a car. I think he was fishing to see just what kind of price it would bring. Michael I hope you get his allocation! The Jerk! Thanks for the heads up on the 0%. I didn't think I was going to get it for my 08. David

Then when they find they aren't going to get a car after all that time then miss out on a GT500 allocation they aren't going to be happy.

These are special vehicles. You just can't go down to the dealer and say hey order me this one unless they have an allocation already. I mean lets face it after all this time how many dealers like you are on this forum who are going to be straight up with someone and give info like you do. I have learned alot about buying a car on here. 50k is alot of money to have someone hold for 8mos. and find out you are not getting the car. I mean that has happened before right Michael? Some people just don't realize that if you do things like that to people it comes back on you. I find that if you are fair and honest (sometimes you have to fib a little) that you will get what is coming to you for your decency.

A year later they called him to refund his deposit. he ended up buying one off a lot in a little tiny town in Iowa on his way through on business, he just happened to run across it. Ford has already said that if you win the lottery and get a KR you will NOT get another. so i asked him if i won how can you promise me a KR. have you won the lottery? he response was "we are getting a KR". no proof just that. i dont think he knows if hes getting one or not, but if you win he would want your money down. michael morris
