Beating a dead horse?

My post on the need for a product manager has been locked by GTHERO for what he claims were "people constantly deciding to beat dead horses."

I don't believe that was not the case at all. The issue I was speaking to was one of process and communication NOT on the hood scoop issues. My topic was and is a totally different discussion and from what i can find has never been discussed before.

My post, as he previously suggested was NOT a b@tch post but one, again as he previously suggested, where I offered suggestions and not complaints. I'm sorry if my "suggestions", which I thought were very specifically directed at very specific issues, were taken as "people constantly deciding to beat dead horses".

Frankly, if people don't to read or respond to my posts or if they disagree that's fine they die a slow death and eventually fall off the page! We don't need a moderator telling us what we can and can't discuss. It shouldn't be up to GTHERO to decide when we've reached a "dead horse" level of discussion, what we can talked about, nor should that be a lock or deletion criteria. Contributors can be counted on to take care of that and shouldn't we be the ones to decide when enough is enough

In my experience moderators are for keeping things clean, delete profanity or spam, etc., NOT to censor discussions at their whim.

If we can't have frank and open discussion then what? Does someone fear honest open debate?

I will leave you with a quote from RFK: "Some people see things as they are and ask why, I dream things that never were and ask, why not?"

I agree - moderators should not delete or lock discussions simply because they don't agree with them for one reason or another. Apparently you hit on something very sensitive at SAI, but that is not the prudent reaction on their part.

Yes it is my job to delete spam, inappropriate posts etc. etc. But it is also my job to make sure the forum is operating in a constructive environment. You constantly telling SAI they need this manager or that manager isnt constructive. Amy was the president of Matel Inc. a 600 million dollar company, she does not need people telling her to hire someone to do this or someone to do that. She knows how to run a business. To put it simply, Matt a lot of people are tired of your complaining, most of us are experiencing some of the same issues you are, but voice our opinions in a more respectful manner or just keep quiet and trust SAI to come through for us like they have in the past. This forum here is provided so we can discuss our cars, positive and negatives, not tell Amy how to run SAI. They after all dont have to provide us with this forum at all, let alone for free.

ilmor- I am not taking a stance on any issue, not saying i agree or disagree with any of it.

Feel free to PM me if you would like
