ShelbyPilot
The unpainted mirrors on all of the Mustangs was poor choice, in my opinion, by Ford. I know there are other options out there but here are two I considered. Others with different options please chime in. The first option I tried was a set of painted mirror covers from Americanmuscle.com. The paint (black) matched well but they only covered the top half mirror and it just didn't look right in my opinion. They cost $99 plus shipping and are installed with 3M tape. Anybody who would like the set I removed for the cost of shipping and your own 3M tape PM me, first response. They never left my garage but I did have to be peel them off, I don't notice any damage. The second option that I went with was a full paint job by JLT Performance in Chesapeake, VA. You send your mirrors to them. They sand, prime and paint the mirror housing to match. It cost $200 plus shipping and they are qouting a two week turn around time. Removing the mirros was fairly simple, carefully remove the interior plastic piece, remove three nuts and one or two plugs (passenger/driver). Sending via UPS from CA was a bit pricey but maybe you can find a local shop that can do it for around the same $200-$275. My mirrors should have arrived at JLT today. I'll post pictures of mine when they return in about two weeks. In the meantime here is a car JLT did:
RogerS
Very Nice. Chris, this the same JLT as the intakes? If so I had one on my 04 Cobra color matched. Great work.
gtplumber_merged
Very Nice. Chris, this the same JLT as the intakes? If so I had one on my 04 Cobra color matched. Great work. I put chrome plated mirror covers on mine and the door handles and I get nothing but compliments on them, people think they came with the car. However the painted mirrors look awesome! ilmor
I might feel differently if I had a red car or other color, but on the white car my opinion is that the standard black is the best color. I think painting the mirrors makes them much too noticable and bulky, and then they detract from the looks of the car. When black, they tend to blend in with the windows and window tint more, which tends to camouflage them. Having said that, the paint job on your mirrors was well done. I have a white car and either black or white I think would work well. Thanks for the heads-up!!

The bugs don't seem to stick to the mirrors now and if you damage the mirror, like hitting something going thru a drive thru window, you can just buy a new one without having to get it painted. I think it looks good on the white SGT's.

I am getting another one this weekend and I will post pics with the chrome mirrors and door handles. Also the tailight bezels look awesome on the back.
