bradenbb_merged
SAI says that they are rolling these out. Has anyone here driven it yet? If so, how does it ride with the wheels and suspensions? Is it harsh? Anyone with similar mods please respond. I am worried about the 2o's and lowered suspension making it really harsh ride...... I sent a deposit (cashier's check) in July with the understanding that I'd be contacted in August with an appointment date. I have not yet been notified of a date when my work will be done. Has anybody on this forum actually been contacted with a date or actually taken delivery of the finished product? The last time I was able to get a response (mid-August), it was "my production boss won't let me start scheduling yet". Any info would be greatly appreciated. I do know that they are now working on the 40th cars. Mine was sent out last Friday and they received it on Tuesday, and should now be working on the conversion. Me along with 14 other cars have a finish date deadline of Oct. 24th, due to a special event. I know that they are working on these 15 cars right now in order to get them done by the Oct. deadline. If you are number 75 I would assume that they should be contacting you very soon to schedule. You may want to contact either Sherri Walker or Victoria Cota at SAI and see if these two wonderful ladies could give you some info. They are who I have been working with along with John Walker. If you leave them a message they will usually get back to you. Hope this helps.

Steve I am number 286 and am curious does anyone really know how many they will actually upfit to the anniversary model? Steve I have spoken several times with several people at Shelby and the story has been very consistent that there will be 1000 packages done. Given that you're number 286, if you've done the deposit thing, I'd take that as assurance that you'll be one of the 1000. My fear was that maybe there were way less than 1000 interested customers and maybe Shelby was wondering if they'd be able to make the work financially viable. Given the previous post stating that cars are actually being done, I no longer have that fear. So since there's only going to be 1000 of us in the world, where will this select little group meet from time to time to brag and show off to each other - and if we choose - maybe let the rest of the world catch a glimpse of our cars?? Comment was made that many that had signed up did not come through. The smaller number the better. It would be interesting to know what might be the highest number. I saw on one entry the number 324. gthipo
:D Someone at SAI said there was only 330 cars with a deposit on the 40th package, that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago so it will be a low # of cars . You know..............that really sucks for the SGT people who have had their cars ordered last year and early of the first quarter of this year, cars sitting in the lots converted to a Shelby and have made payments with no car in hand because they are waiting due to the mod shop being backed up. The frustration level is extremly high. I am aware of the event, but I don't believe it is a good business practice that these cars just jump ahead of everyone else. <_<

RogerS
I am speaking in general terms Michael. Not specificly about my car. There are people who have had their cars there longer than me. SAI-John
Roger, you were here. You saw the facility. I would expect that you would be the most understanding one from the group. We are NOT hindering the modifications of the SGTs by building the 40th cars. Like Michael said, we are doing this all on a seperate line. -John

But I must tell you it's been a month and a half since I visisted and a lot has changed. I still want to believe, but you all have a lot going on and I realize the pressures you face every day with the workload. When you see some posts like above about 15 cars committed for a deadline it just makes you wonder. Change places for a minute and I think you would understand. I was just thinking out loud and I appoligize if you may have taken offense. There was no bashing going on here. I think you know me also, that is just not my style. Heck, I even gave you and Bud a big hug for adding people to the mod shop! I think you need another....................
fastbk doc
OOPS! Didn't mean to stir up any trouble about the building of the 40th cars. Guess I just need to keep my mouth shut about commitments and deadlines! I really did not expect to have my car out there for the 40th conversion until the end of this year or first of next year because I knew that there is a huge back up on the SGT line. I feel I just got lucky, and I don't feel or hope that our group was not pushed ahead or placed ahead of anyone. When I was contacted for the deposit for the 40th package I was assigned the CSM number and was told that this would not reflect the order of which the cars are built. The order of build would be determined by many different factors esp. how quick can you get your car here. I had 7 days to get my car from Missouri to SAI after I was contacted to schedule. That's hard to do but I was able to do it. Scheduling is a very difficult thing to do and I would hate to have that job. I think you guys are doing great out there at SAI with the huge demand that has been placed on you. Hope no hard feelings were created. ratco
My GT 500 is an 07 Vert # 1179 of 2694. This car is black vert # 332 of 858. I have ordered the certificate from SVT. I was told that delivery should be the 1st week in October. I am signed up for the 40th package. (07XL0029). I was told by Cynthia Robinson of SAI that my car should be scheduled for the 40th package next week. I may pass on the power upgrades as I am wanting to get the 40th package done as soon as possible. There may be additional delays for the additional work because a details still being worked out. Cynthia said that ten cars are likely to be called to Las Vegas next week for the 40th package only. I can't wait. It would be great if I could somehow arrange for Mr. Shelby to sign my dash while the car was in Las Vegas. The car should be in Las Vegas during the signing party. If anyone has dropped out, please let me know. David
SCrowe
I have a 07 Red GT 500 Conv. with a deposit on the 40th package #284. I will be in Las Vegas next week and I plan to visit SAI while I am there. Do they have any special consideration for Shelby owners who visit their facility? I would think that they would have some kind of special tour for the guys spending all the money. Does anyone know what I should expect? SCrowe
I had the chance to visit the Shelby plant yesterday and spend some time with Cynthia. If you do not know she is the cntact for the anniversary upgrade. It was very interesting to see all the Shelby GTs that they are going to be putting out at that plant. I had a chance to look at the pecking order for the upgrades. She said at this time there are about 250 deposits in for the anniversary upgrade. When each person sent in the request to get the upgrade they automatically received their number. Mine is 286 but there aren't 285 people in front of me because many of them have decided not to do anything or jumped up to the Super Snake. They will start with the lowest number and work their way up. They have completed about 15 and have another group in house. They are allocating two lifts at this time for the anniversary. It appears they can do four per lift per day so about eight per day getting completed. As it has been noted if you are having the horse power upgrade you might want to waite because they are waiting on parts for that. They have all the parts coming for the standard upgrade. If they can do forty a week, it will not take them too long to complete the orders that they have. She said that they would keep the upgrade available until they reached 500 pcs. It really doesn't look like they will get there unless something changes. This could end up being the rarest of the new Shelbys. I had a chance to see an 08 KR, love that hood and of course saw a super snake, nasty looking. On another note the silver stripe looks pretty good. My car is a red conv so the silver will look real good. I am still trying to decide which wheels, either silver or gun metal. Any thoughts for anyone out there? It was a neat trip and glad I took the time to run over and look while I was in town. I thought this group might be interested in hearing what I heard.
