Now thats what I call a dedicated Ford man!!

70 boss 302..high skol ride

74 super beetle-helluva ditch hopper

84 ford exp...POS..did get me through college though so POS is a little harsh..timing belt issues were problematic

90 ford ranger..4 banger 5 speed..good truck with decent MPG

86 f150...traded ranger in for dad...dad gave me the 86 f150..350k miles..body rotted before the motor puked out

01 dodge ram...current ride and 1st vehicle i ever owned with air conditioner...39 years old before i had a vehicle with air

i rarely trade vehicles and keep em for years..i hate car payments/dealing with dealers...i avoid any vehicle that is popular..if dealer wont talk price i walk

cars ive passed on

69 gt500 vert for 4k

shitloads of 69/70 boss 429's for 5k

66 gt350's for 3k

cougar eliminater with 428cj for 2.5k...great cars..hate the front end

tons of 67 -69 gt350's/500's in the 5k range

out of the above the boss 302 i had was terrible (had to have a shaker..all it did though was suck in water when it rained)....i should have bought the gt500/350 as those cars were heavier and a helluva lot quicker...boss 429...looked at a bunch never even considered due to spun bearing problems....(stage 1 buicks were also notorius for this back then)...forgot to add i was once into talladega 500's...there is a guy just south of bloomington i know who has/had about a dozen of em years ago...body style turned me off on those....great thread..brought back a lot of good memories....

This thread brings back a lot of memories!I've ridden in a lot of the cars listed that I didn't own.You Ford guys will like this,A friend of mine had a 68' Hemi Road Runner when I had my 73 Mustang coupe in Wimbledon White with black Vinyl top(Remember those?!),And hubcaps. Now for the good part it also had a 70' 351 Cleveland 4 barrel that was built justa little. She was a pig outta the hole but at about 4500,LOOK OUT!Hemi said I couldn't beat him.Ha!he also wanted to run from a roll.Double Ha!I was behind him and said I would get after it when I saw him go.Next thing I see is a little black smoke which means that all 8 barrels are open for business on the Hemi.I pulled it to first and HOLY COW!,I took off reeling him in quick and passed him by the time I was deep into second on the C6,All I could see when I passed him was his mouth making some movement that looked like WTF! :hysterical: I never let him live that down and he never knocked the Cleveland again. That is about my favorite ford motor.Hemi=Needs experienced tuner to come get some! :happy feet:

If we could all just take back 1 or 2 of the cars we once owned.......................Great lists. It is amazing that at different times in our lives the auto seclection changes :) But there seems to be a little gear head in all of us.

Ok here we go:

In chronological order (I think)

1979 El Camino 305 V8(caught on fire)

1985 Buick Regal T-Type WH-1 (My second favorite)

1989 Buick Regal Gran Sport (shared with mom, she still owned it until 2006) great car

1985 Camaro Z-28 305 V8(caught on fire, do we see a pattern developing here?)

1993 Ford Probe Gt (drove it for 5 years, longest Ive ever owned a car)

2000 Pontiac Grand Am Gt (I leased it \, first new car ever, every time in rained the car took on more water than the titanic, p.o.s. last new GM I will ever buy) :titanic:

2001 Mustang Gt (third favorite) I gave the S.S. Minnow back to GM and got my first Mustang !

1998 Ford Explorer XLT V8 (still have this one, runs great 138,000 on it)

1985 Oldsmobile 442 (still own it, all original, needs minor resto and paint, when I get around to it)

2006 Dodge Charger R/T (I have to say I really like this car)

2007 Shelby Gt ( My dream of owning a Shelby finally comes through, Favorite car to date)

I feel like something is missing from this list :headscratch:

Cars I want before I croak (strangely enough there both G.M. cars)

1970-1972 Olds Cutlass Convertible

1987 Buick Grand National

Great topic Roger, Some great rides out there!

Hey M.M. would you mind sending me some pics of your two Hurst olds :camera:

Wow, let me try to remember them all. I have been driving 18 years, let me give this a shot-

This is in order of ownership, I think I got them all-

1970 Chevy Nova- Got it for free, car was awesome, had it through high school.

1987 Ford Escort GT- Hit a Mercedes head on in a snow storm up in Maine, that was the end of this car.

1991 Ford Escort- Bought new, needed something cheap, this fit the bill, could not break this thing, put 125k trouble free miles and sold it, still ran great.

1992 Mazda Miata- Very fun car and bullet proof.

1992 Saab 9000 Turbo- This car flew. Engine was bullet proof, to bad the rest of the car was not. Put over 200k on this engine and still ran like a champ. Donated it.

1988 Porsche 911- Loved this car, wish I still had it. Sold it to pay for my wedding. Car was immaculate.

2002 VW Jetta GLI- Nice car, very tight and loved the VR6 smooth engine.

2003 20th Anniversary GTI- Another nice car, but I had no garage and the Black Paint killed me.

2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon- Nice for a toy, worst gas mileage ever, great in the snow, worst stopping car I have ever driven.

2006 Audi A4 2.0T- The nicest daily driver I have had, this car was great.

2005 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer- Kid hauler, with gas prices I am thinking maybe I should have gone with the Mini-van. Great truck otherwise.(Still have this)

1998 BMW M3 Convert- Another Great car, but out of warranty. Traded this puppy in for the Shelby, no regrets even though I got ripped off big time.

2007 Honda Accord- Daily Driver, still have this. Great car so far. (Still have this)

2007 Mustang Shelby GT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Obviously still have this)

BMW with Expedition- Notice the Miata and the Saab in the reflection

Porsche with GTI in back

Audi A4

Only one I have of Jetta in front of my old house when I just moved in with nose of Saab

Jeep Rubicon with a little Saab

My wife thinks something is wrong with me, I used to think she was crazy................Now you made me think of all these cars and I am thinking she may be on to something.

1988 Mazda 323 Turbo

1989 Mazda 323 Turbo (the first one got stolen)

1992 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo

2001 Audi S4 (still my daily driver)

2007 Ford Shelby GT500 :happy feet:

I don't know Bill but I think the best picture is the last :)

Agreed 100%, it took a while to find out what I wanted, but I am all set now. Not saying I will not update the Daily Driver at some point, but from a Toy stand-point I am all set. :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

OK, I'll play. . . . . .

1986 Dodge Aries

1982 VW Rabbit

1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z (Totalled)

1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo Z

1987 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R Turbo

1988 Chevrolet Cavalier

1996 Dodge Dakota

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24

1992 Dodge Stealth R/T

2008 Shelby GT

Out of all those cars, I wish I still had the Starion, and the Stealth in my garage - they were both super fun to drive! Wonder what will be next ................... I've got to get something for a daily/winter driver. I still laugh about this. . . . . all the mods I want to do to my SGT would add up to the purchase of some brand new, 2009 (non gas guzzler taxed) econo-box type car. :club:

Damnit, I knew someone was gonna call me on that!

My little brother is kind enough to point out EVERY mini van we pass em. Keeps reminding me that I'll be needing one soon, and that my toys are gonna have to go. Siblings are great :slapfight: I'm thinking I'll call Power Ported and get a Magnum with the 426 hemi upgrade when that time comes.

The good thing is that the toys don't have to go, I'm an example of that. The wife is happy with the Odyssey and I get the Cobra. Life is good. :happy feet:

Growing up in Cental NJ, my mother was chronically ill but my Dad bought "her" her a brand new 1967 289 Mustang coupe a few months after I happened to get my first drivers license. I count this a my first car as I put all of the miles on it.

After that came college and marriage. Car dealers probably don't like me since I keep a car forever. Here goes:

1964 Chevy Bel Air

1968 Chevelle

1970 Ford Maverick Grabber

1973 Firebird

We moved to Utah in the summer of 1974. I got in to off-roading which explains the 4x4's. We also were in to 3 & 4 wheelers and lots of desert trips. You definately don't want to live in Utah and work at a ski resort with out a 4x4.

1973 Chevy Blazer 4x4

1979 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 p.u.

1986 Merc. Sable

1993 Chevy Beretta

1996 Chevy 3/4 4x4 p.u.

2004 Gran Am

2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4 p.u.

2007 Shleby GT, black #2940

Many years after we moved to Utah my Dad decided to sell the 1967 Mustang. It was garaged for it's entire life. It had 27K on the odometer after 30 years! The local NJ Ford dealer was after him every year to sell it back to them. I offered to fly back and drive it to Utah. He sold it to a local nursing student for $3,000. I still can't believe he did that.

As much as I enjoyed my Chevelle and Firebird, they weren't a Shelby. MIne is a week end driver so I imagine I will be putting it in my will as I don't plan on ever parting with it.
