blower oil change

does anyone know when and what kind of oil should be used.

The 2007 GT500 service manual states, "The SC has a self-contained oil system that does not require a fluid change for the life of the vehicle."

With that said, there is a Motorcraft lubricant specifically for superchargers; I've seen it on the shelf in my local Ford dealers part department, it comes in a small plastic bottle that's probably 4 fl. oz. . I tried to find the oil type and part number for you but the service manual does not list it at all; I suggest that you inquire with your local dealers parts department.

If you have disassembled the front snout on your SC to possibly change the pully I would not tell your dealer this, it could void your warranty ;)

Cheers,

Thanks for the info WP. This is the first vehicle I have had with a SC so anything will help. I haven't done any mods yet but I'm on the list for the supper snake can't wait.

I am confused. You say the SC self-contained oil does NOT require a fluid change for the life of the vehicle. Then you go on to say how to get the oil and change it anyway.

Sound like this is for people modifying their supercharger? ;)

Sometimes the front snout will have to be removed to get the pulley off, as you said, "Sound like this is for people modifying their supercharger?" I have a buddy at local speed shop that had to remove the snout after thrashing the pulley on a GT500 super charger, his puller just wasn't up to the job and a hydraulic press had to be used. He got the job done and installed the undersized pulley, but his customer wants him to replace the mangled stock pulley and Ford won't sell you just the pulley, you gotta buy the whole super charger...

I personally have never had a problem removing a super charger pulley and I've changed out ten or more pulleys on Terminator and GT500 super chargers, I have the pulley puller made/sold by Metco and it has always done the job although some of those pulleys can be tough SOB's to pull off, especially the GT500 pulleys.
