Just a couple of vacation pics

Recommended Posts

Are they ever going to spend a few $$$ and get rid of that tacky vinyl grommet sign thing! Makes me cringe every time I see a picture of it. Looks like a "temp" office thing or something. The more I think about it the less it, or anything else, is really needed. The "Shelby" on the building is enough. First thing I'll fix as COO!

Hey Stump, we know you did more than just take pictures! Tell us what kind of goodies you got from SAI! (or is it top secret) You didn't spend all your mod money at the casinos did you?

Just pickin' on you. That had to be a great time, hope you enjoyed it.

It was a ton of fun. Christie said touring the plant was worth the entire drive from Texas. Shelby was actually at the plant but would not meet with anyone. That would have been the icing on the cake!

Of course we got the obligitory t-shirts, took pics of the Shelby's in the museum (I'll post up later on) and she got a couple of t-shirts for our grandkid and some golf balls for her bosses then signed the wall on the way out. As mentioned before, Adam must have purchased the last "my other car is a Shebly" license plate frame because they had no more in stock and were not going to order any!!!

Got told some interesting stuff - why the car is rated at 319 HP when it's more, there will not be a 2008 SGT and there will be a 2008 GT-H Convert. Also the Supersnakes will be in a lottery to see which dealers get them (1000 only).

Alot of dealers are praying on the SS and KR lotteries. I think if I could locate a KR next year I might have to build another garage! LOL.

Having this SGT aka "garage queen" has been the most fun I have had in years. Great community to boot!

Happy memorial day, hope most of you have some sunshine. Gulf Coast Texas is a mess this weekend. Happy and safe motoring.

A few more pics....

The CS6 - They were trying to make it a production car but it has more power then the GT and would have been less $$. Ford killed the idea. 350 RWHP from a 6 cyl...

The most photographed Cobra (add me to the list) - unfinished aluminum skin that takes 250 man hours or so to polish.

The first cobra built. They said it's been painted about 12-15 times for car magazines so everyone could have an original, different colored Cobra when it was all the same car everytime. Sneaky, sneaky....

Hydrogen powered Cobra. Steve said the HP was cut in 1/2 and it only had a range of 25 miles but ran really well.

Christie about to get blown away at Meteor Crater - there was a 50ish MPH wind constantly blowing from the crater itself..

And last but not least, the Colorado River.

Awsome pictures!

Thanks for sharing.............

Im about 3 hours from vegas (So. Cal.) and was thinking of making a run there this tuesday after the Memorial weekend. Did you have to call ahead or anything?

Thanks

Nope. Just show up before 10:30am, go through the tour and then spend you money in the gift shop. They don't allow pics in the actual work area though. Threatened to break my thumbs....... :D

ED,

Call ahead ask for John, Bud, or maybe even Steve. Tell them you are a Shelby GT owner. You might get to see a little more.

Yeah right. Heck mine was parked outside the front door and Steve could not even figure out the license plate.

quote from stump breaker > Got told some interesting stuff - why the car is rated at 319 HP when it's more,

I would be interested in knowing that info, or is it " TOP SECRET CLASSIFIED INFORMATION "

They said they stopped the rating at 319 to avoid an additional $1500 GGT. Something about once it his 320 HP, Uncle Sam wants a bigger piece.

We all know it's actually 325-330ish.

I figured it was something along those lines, thanks.
