ccstinger
Hello, I'm a proud new owner of a 2007 Shelby GT. On looking under the hood, I noticed that the openings for the lock-down posts for the hood are drilled right through the hood, and that the metal seems untreated where the hole was drilled through. Looking for any ideas about how to best protect this area from any rust that might arise. Any help is greatly appreciated! Han.
ShelbyCobra826
I'm no engineer, and I don't do body work, but I think that the GT hood that is used is aluminum, not steel. If this is the case, wouldn't rust be less of an issue?
SAI-John
Yep, you got it right. The hood on the SGT is aluminum. No rust. -John
