Amy, im very disapointed in the quality issues, ( loose scope, badges uneven bubbled stripes, not registered on the title as a shelby, floormats ) it just seems this is just a way to get shelby back on track and almost from bankruptsy on our expense Ive read many articles about you and Matel and how you did a great job there. Ive give you credit for coming up with this joint idea with F ord. But we have to have quaility and production work hand and hand. I too am very excited about getting my first TRUE shelby but this kind of threw a wet blanket on it. Just a little food for thought i

I beleive amy addressed the fender badges as an issue with the shipper. And said there were some difficulties with other cars and shipping as well

I too have seen some isolated reports of some issues and I haven't seen a car numbered above 400 yet so I think it's a bit early to make any sort claim of quality issues. I also have seen no evidence of a systemic problem. Your example of the fender badges I've seen 5, out of how many hundred, reported with an issue. Hood scoops I've seen maybe another 5? If you have more please post them!

Before I would go making damning accusations I would step back and take a breath and think about what you’re saying and what result you’re hoping to get. You’ve made some, I think, inappropriate and unfortunate claims to support your premise. If there is an issue we should raise it, totally fair, but raise it to drive awareness and get the issue resolved not use it as an opportunity to disparage a company and its worker’s intentions. That’s just not ever right and will get you no where.

As for me, I'm willing to chalk it up to a new roll out of an involved process. In the case of first off the line, especially when I hear Shelby had some supplier issues causing delay, there are bound to be some issues that are discovered only after production and first customer ship. That's to be expected. I wouldn't want to be the guy getting that car but these people will be taken care of and production/QA improved.

My car will be here “someday” which is better than the thousands that want one and can’t get one can say so for that I feel fortunate. I’ll be a bit bummed if I find some issue, but like everything else, it’s less important what’s wrong and more important what’s done about it.

The only thing I am bothered with really is the <bleep> floor mats only because I really do like the ones shown in the prototype. But you have to ask yourself, if the mats shown in the prototype were not there, would you have not bought the car? I mean what are we talking about here. I would suggest that Shelby get these mats made and sell them! There’s obviously money to be made here!

But it’s a suggestion, and not shrouded in innuendo and venom so maybe it’ll be heard.

Until I hear of some real issue, in contrast to your post, I will not believe there is anything going on here beyond some good people trying very hard to meet a huge demand and ramp up while maintaining their level of quality. I trust they know their business.

I'm not going to get into a battle here with you I can only tell you that "$@! happens! No one here is making excuses only being realistic. I will say that I think you have this entire situation upside down. We are in fact buying these cars for the SHELBY name! What are you buying it for? There are plenty of faster, better handling cars for 40K! I really hope you're not buying this for any reason other than it's a Mustang piece of history. I think you have entirely unrealistic expectations and you're sure to be disappointed because in the end it's a FORD MUSTANG. No one is saying the cars shouldn't be done in a quality way that goes without saying. But from the way you talk you would think you were buying a SC430 or something. Again, I want quality but I'm not expecting any more than I got from my 2005 GT but not what I got from my SC400, Type-S, or C70. Oh wait...please better than my C70! :-)

 where/how did you make this huge leap in logic from what i said?

No. I wouldn't accept any thing like this and why would anyone! I would expect, if mine was one of the few that did have an issue, that it would be fixed! Nothing is perfect 100% of the time! Is your business? When you fail to meet a customer's expectations don't you fix it?

Again, a few isolated issues, not even to your car, and you're ready to jump out a window! Yikes!

BTW: If you actually do own three businesses...while I'm not going to say where I work, chances are you do buy from me!

Ive been in the car business a long time and have seen alot of the problems associated with a conversion vehicle. I have repaired everything from stretch dually pickups to stretch limos to party vans. lately I have dealt with Saleen and Roush cars and trucks. I think that anytime you modifiy any car there will be minor problems, from human error installing parts to poorly engineered parts to parts supply issues. I did some checking with Ford where I have some good conections and the warranty claims on the Shelby Hertz cars was very low, thats amazing after reading some of the stories posted just on this site. I hope any problems anyone has with the Shelby GT are minor, your dealer should be able to do any repairs needed and has special provisions within the Ford warranty process to get paid for them, at Ford warranty rates. :( Hi im a new memeber tonight and I had bought #251. When I got it home I had noticed bubbles in my stripe on the hood scoop and the scoop has a 1/8 inch gap between it and the hood. Also a paint defect like unsanded fiberglass with a little pitting then paint aplied over top of it. Im very disapointed but I was excited at the time of purchase. I paid 1000.00 under window sticker price. It was in Hagerstown , MD. I think if there is enough complaints we should get new hood scoops or hood because I dont want some body shop fixing it and devalueing my shelby.

I did just see a white SGT at the local Ford dealer and there is definately an issue with the stripe on the hood scoop. Very bubbly. Maybe they should have figured a way to spray paint it rather than use tape.

:) Ya I paid $37540.00 to be exact. The salesman gave me a paper to initail and they screwed up and thought there was a rebate, but hey I didnt know . So they gave it to me as a discount instead. They told me it would be bad bis on their part if they added money after an agreed price. They told me if I didnt take the car they were going to mark it up 10,000.00 after I left.

 I forgot to say that my hood pin are coming out everytime I took it for a ride. Yes I know how they go in. The pins seem not to have a very good snap to hold them in place. This is a quality issue. I can go to auto zone and find better ones than this. As soon as the weather permits Ill be at ford service asking some ?s. Just hope to get these little issues resolved.

Happy to see you got a Shelby! I'm happy to see the dealer didn't fight to get the car back, see some dealers are honorable!

However I do feel bad for the saleman/sales manager they might be looking for a job!

Take it back to the dealer and get it fixed. Having the stripe replaced at your dealer using the actual OEM part is not going to devalue your car.

:) Thank you for your concern on this issue. I just wanted to let everyone know I love the car. This is one of the best handling/looking cars I drove in a long time. My wife keeps opening the garage door just to look at it before she goes to bed. It seems that I just couldnt sleep for the past few days thinking about driving the car to car shows and cruise ins.

What did you give your wife? Can you send me a bottle?

My wife told me her father (who worked for Chrylser and GM) would roll over in his grave if he knew I had bought a Ford. I corrected her explaining I had bought a Shelby, but it hasn't helped. Expensive jewelry is the only solution.

Guys, we have shipped over 900 cars. We have had 15 issues, we have sent stripers to different states and fixed every one of them. We have now fixed how we do the cars. This is a new project for us, and we are doing our best to get it right. With everything there are some issues, its how you handle it is key for us. We stand behind our products and if there are complaints we will address them

that arrise when there is a problem that our customers have...this goes for any business. I think when

this is all said and done...SAI will show that thier craftmanship is the best in the business
