ksmach1
Today I had a first hand look at a real Hertz GT-H at the same dealer that I just purchased my Shelby GT500 from. The car is in very nice condition inside and out. I think it has over 7000 miles on it. As of today the car is for sale but they have not done any advertising to sell it and I don't think they are going to sell it on ebay. So I said I would put this out to the select people who are members of this forum. The car and dealer information is on the up and up. So here it is: Faulkner-Ciocca Ford 321 S. West End Blvd. (RT. 309) Quakertown, Pa 18951 Ask for Randy Jordan (Manager) 215-536-8600 or 267-733-9872 r-jord15@dealeremail.com Tell Randy that Ken who purchased the black GT500 three weeks ago turned you on to this car. If someone buys this car that read this thread, I will meet you at Faulkner with my Shelby and I'll take you to lunch or dinner on me! I also may be able to help out with getting you to the dealer if your coming from out of state. Email - ksmach1@yahoo.com Good Luck Ken
daltondavid
they were not going for under $60,000 at Manheim's Dealer Auction so expect to pay at least that. of course they will not put it on ebay as there is already too many on there not sellling. spending $65,000 or more on a car that has had every person that rented it Bury their Size 12 shoe to the floor every day it was in use is not all that appealing to me. I guess next you could go to the Mustang Ranch in Nevada and buy a slightly used Gal to marry?? (she was only rented a couple times.....!!) I'll stick with the new ones at Half the price. the car that is! waiting 30 years to see a profit on a GT-H is too long. Hertz and FORD dealers buying them up are the only real winners in the Money making aspect of these cars right now. but If you already have a 66 GT350H, I imagine it would be hard not to "have to have one" right next to the old one!! just another part of the "Master Marketing Scheme"!! Kudos to the designer of the Scheme!!

Kudos to the designer of the Scheme!! I agree with what you are saying. The dealers who buy these cars are looking for a nice payoff and a way to make there dealership popular with potential customers. I don't want to be miss understood by giving everyone the dealer info in my last thread. I gave the info to maybe give someone another option. Personnally I would haggle with every dealer I could until I found a price that I could live with. I think that 60k is too much for this car that was a rental, but thats just me. I'm in my 21st year in the Army and I've made a living at helping people. The very little that I could do, may make a difference to someone who could strike the rigth deal for the car. I apologize to the members of this forum for any miss understanding. Ken
crispy23c
Ken, I took it as just what you meant...a generous offer from you for free lunch. I don't think I'll buy the "H", but I'll make the drive from NH for lunch (I can eat ALOT)!!! Okay, I'm kidding about driving down for lunch, but I did think it was very nice of you to post this--AND offer to help out. I think after the first couple of auctions the prices (at auction) will relax a little. They will always be auctioning higher than the Shelby GT because of their rarity, and collectibility (especially) for the '66 H owners.

Ken Hey, there will be about 475 of these cars that will be sold to the public. people will buy them, I just am not going to be one of them so that makes one less player in the hunt ! so that is good news for people that do want to buy one! and Ken you are doing the right thing as somebody in Pa or close by may want to check it out!! Rule number 1 whenever you are selling anything: Let people know it is available!
chilli bullitt
This is the reason I am hoping to get #362 directly fromt he franchise owner before it goes to auction to maybe keep it down a little on price. That and the fact it will have higher mileage next year and was already scuffed up when I rented it with less that 4k on the odometer should help as well. We will see next June or so. Cam, The dealer that I posted info for will more than likely have this car for a while. Since each dealer needs to pony-up the money to Hertz, I feel that the longer the car sits at the dealer, the price will become more reasonable. But they always have that out side shot of having that one buyer who has more money than Bill Gates. I think most dealers who took a chance and purchased this car from Hertz are trying to cash in on the Hertz/Shelby name and they will tell you that the car is worth 60k to 80k becuase of "WHAT IT IS". My guess is that these cars will still be available 6 mo down the road. Remember, right place + right time = right price ! I wish you the best. As for me...I love the design of the GT-H...but I need a 'vert (whoa is me, eh? Hahaha). Soooo, I'm hoping...hoping, hoping, hoping....that the Shelby GT becomes available as a 'vert next year. At around 440+ lbs less weight than a gt500, if I can have Carroll, Amy & co. slap on their S/C for 470 fun loving ponies......voila, a certified killer gone topless. So, I wait and lurk for the right time. Of course, if these kind folks decide to call it GT350, I would not complain one bit. Back on topic, I think that subsequent auctions will see more reasonable auction prices, which in turn would (hopefully) make the GT-H much more reasonable for all who are interested. chilli bullitt
Someone posted over on IMBOC.com that they are going to auction off another 113 cars shortly and will be auctioned off in different locations. As for the alternative, a SC Vert for the Shelby GT is my next option. Would let me possibly get the new house bought/built in the next year and the go for the Stang. By the way, the initial fever over the -H has calmed down a bit, prices aren't as astronomical as they were, and dealers asking prices are cooling off. So, hopefully some of these will get into the hands of more enthusiasts (vs collectors). I love to see these driven. BTW, good luck w/the house, it's always "fun"! We looked at a local builders house they recently done and it had a three car garage plus room to add another single car at the end of the driveway if needed. Also noticed it had some tall ceilings in the garage so a lift could be used as well. :D Hmmm....
