teamford
Team Ford in Las Vegas just lost me as a customer. This is crap, just like the ADM bullshit they pull. Sorry Team Ford but no more oil changes for me or sending friends to you for biz. As stated above, I paid for the banners out of my own pocket. Team Ford has nothing to do with the sale of these banners, it is my own personal transaction. What else was it the we did at the dealership to make you unhappy? Is there a possible solution to the problem? We only got one banner and I gave it to my power lease customer. The dealership only got one from Ford, and it's hanging in the showroom. We plan on having a "Live" auction for the first GT500 to show up. Who ever wins the auction for the car, also get's the banner. It took me many, many, many phonecalls to get the banners I am selling. AGAIN, the above Ebay auction is not Team Ford related!! and what would/did you pay for the banner? When they banners came out, the dealer were supposed to get 10 each, most dealer were lucky to get (1), as we did. I was selling them on www.teamfordparts.com for only $25, until I found out that I could not supply them to my customers. Ford decided to not make the banners anymore and cancelled all outstanding orders.
Alloy Dave
That's interesting...using Team Ford banner as a signature...but then stating that you are not affiliated in this endeavor with Team Ford. Perhaps if someone notified Team Ford of what this person is doing...using their banner while selling personal items. At my company, that would get me fired. Sorry you led to the confusion not us. And now your Shelby is up for Auction? WOW just last month it was 15K over MSRP, and that info only came about after asking 3 different salesmen, 2 of which didnt have a clue what the GT500 was. Dave :angry2: the problem is that I can not pick and choose when I can have the signature posted. 99.9% of my posts are Team Ford related. Every once and a while I will post something personal, but the banner stays. If I remove it for the one post, then reinstate it for another, it will show up on all the olders posts as well. I guess I will make a new account with my personal stuff and then use the ID I want when posting. I apologize for the confusion this may have caused. BadTony
Then I guessed right if you were originally selling them at $25.00. Which leads me to the question...why would you ever buy at $50.00? I think that if you would have had a reasonable buy it now price to begin with, that none of this would have come up.
teamford
Then I guessed right if you were originally selling them at $25.00. Which leads me to the question...why would you ever buy at $50.00? I think that if you would have had a reasonable buy it now price to begin with, that none of this would have come up. Why would I pay $50 each? Well if you had a product that you paid $50 for, then could turn it around for 3-4 fold, would you do it? I mean that is the way business is run. You buy low and sell high. People and companies do it everyday. I was selling them at $25 originally becuase they were supposed to be free, plus shipping cost. So at $25 I would have made maybe $10 per banner. That is not a lot of markup at all. Then I could not get any. So I did some research and made some calls on my own and located (1) dealer that had six. These are the only banner I ever used. I had it buy it now at $99, that sold in about 5 minutes. That's when I thought I could raise the price, the next one went for over $300 after the buy-it-now was not used. Then others sold for $250+ when people did not use buy it now. I am just getting market value, I am not purposley trying to rip anyone off. I will edit the aobve post and remove the link to the auction. I see that it has upset some people and I do not want to upset potential customers. I offer a great service to the Mustang community and do not want to ruin it.
BadTony
better yet, quit trying to sell something for 5 x the price and good karma will come your way on ebay and at the dealership. Still have an ebay auction, but just let the 'people' set the market value by not having a "buy it now" price of 5 x (or more) than something is worth. WOW if that is true, and I am lead to think it is, then what I said about steering people away from them from now on stands. Too bad dealers need and salesmen need to think about how customers were treated just 15 or so years ago. And that this greed over this car and many other cars is going to not put food on the table. teamford
This is said. I paid $90-$95 each for three at a dealer and sold to other enthusiast what I paid for them and teamford got them for free and couldn't even share with people on this forum who are true enthusiast! I think my dealer may have made money on them but they were otherwise unavailable to me. I just find this sad. Team Ford, the dealership, only got (1) banner, and it's still hanging in the show room. If I was able to get them from Ford I was only charging $25, not $90-95. Now this seemed like a good deal to me. Problem was that I could not get any. So I went out and procurred some from another dealer and paid out of my own pocket. I will try to adjust the auction and see what happens. I am not out to screw anyone, I am an an honest businessman. I was just listing it at what the market was bringing in. To help clear things up: The banners that were listed on www.teamfordparts.com for $25 never came in, Ford cancelled all pending orders and the banner was discontinued. Hence the orders placed by members of this forum were cancelled. The banners that I purchased were only placed on Ebay. They were listed at first for only $49, that auction ended at $360. The next several all went for $199 or more, not because of me, but what people bid on the item. So this last banner was placed with that in mind and not to upset past or future customers. Once again, I personally aplogize if I upset anyone or you think I am gouging the price of the banner.

jrichard
Why is it that everyone loves a free enterprise system until they want something and can't buy it at the price they think they should pay? Then, all of the sudden sellers are scum for making a profit. (Or, as some would argue, an 'additional profit'...a term that makes no sense because it implies there is some ethical limit on profit.) I don't get it. Be honest and up front, treat people with respect, and keep your eye on both your short-term and long-term goals. Then, within that context, sell your product for what you can get. Be happy to provide for your family. Others should respect that. It's what they are doing all day long. Has anyone here sold their house for less than the highest legitimate offer simply because they thought their house couldn't be worth that much? Has anyone turned down a raise because...well...because they aren't worth that much? Have you asked a dealer to reduce your trade-in value because your old car can't possibly be worth as much as the dealer offered? If not, then what makes you better than teamford or dealers asking ADM? If teamford and/or ADM-seeking-dealers are gouging or taking advantage, then surely everyone here is, too...its just that your market isn't so public. I think the function of markets in the US is more critical to our standard of living than most folks realize. Though small, transactions surrounding the GT500 are part of a free market. I, for one, am very thankful that we have that benefit.

Dude, thanks for the special price on the cover. Almost makes up for my own mistake on the banner. See I was at the ebay auction for the first one and saw what we now know was the low Buy it Now price. I almost clicked buy it now but thought naaaa, I'll bid on it and try to get it a few bucks cheaper. I dont blame you a bit for selling those banners for all the market will bear. I just whished I had known then. I'd have one hanging in my garage. At $200 that will not happen, just cannot take that much out of my GT500 savings... Coulda, shoulda, woulda. I got the engine cover ordered. Thanks!

Perhaps if someone notified Team Ford of what this person is doing...using their banner while selling personal items. At my company, that would get me fired. Dave :angry2: My thought exactly, Dave. Otherwise, anyone would be able to get the banners from Ford, which you can't. He uses his position as a dealer to get them, then sells them 'privately'. That would get anyone fired on the spot in any ethical business I know of. That was a, defacto, dealer sale... oh, wait, no, it was private purchase, oh no, wait it was.... Maybe a lesson has been learned; why do I think not?! How about GT500 glove compartment doors at $200ADM so we can send them to Carroll to sign? (do I hear some dealer saying: sure, that's a great idea?) TeamFord, shame on you -- you can't undo it with some temporary honesty on demand... most community colleges offer adult-ed classes on business ethics and the LasVegas campus is right in the city there!
