crispy23c
I absolutely loved the GR-1. Beautiful design update of the Daytona (I am a huge fan of that design, but I am WAY too tall to fit in any original Cobra). I was really hoping that this would be produced. Alas..... Maybe I can buy the prototype for "scrap" metal pricing????? Yeah, then I woke up!!! :P
jay051560
I saw a 1:16 scale model the other day of a 2005 GR-1. It said it had 750HP at the rear wheels. If only they would actually produce this car!!!! Ford/Shelby needs something that will dominate the Corvette.

stump_breaker
Ford/Shelby needs something that will dominate the Corvette. That would only be 1/2 the battle. They would then need to price the car so it could be obtainable by the average consumer which seems to be forgotten as time goes on. I can get a 'Vette for ~40K here in town. I bet that wouldn't cover 1/2 the cost on a machine like this. Stop building performance cars for collectability and start building for practicality, quit living on the shirt tails of heritage which encompasses a small minority and start designing for the masses and I'd be willing to bet sales would skyrocket. The Mustang is not necessarily a "performance" car but for the most part it has been a good road car with moderate power and adequate pricing which Is what I believe has kept it on the road and a high seller for FORD. Webba
Personally I would rather see the AC Cobra retro that came out a few years ago now. I love that car. The GR1 is ok but the roadster is gorgeous.
shelbydream1
I have thought for years that Ford needed an affordable car to go head to head with the Vette/Viper-the GT was a nice attempt, but not may of us had the extra $125K lying around to buy one. I'm afraid if they built the GR-1 it would be in that price range-I think it's a really sweet car though
ngnear_merged
I wonder how those wheels of a GR-1 would look on a SGT (Vista Blue)? Do you know where you can get them? <_< Just a thought.
