DVS2XS
David Vizard has a very interesting article on crankshaft windage in the Aug, 2006 issue of Circle Track Magazine. In it, a 3.75 stroke 383 SBC is tested to 7500 rpm with crankshafts using stock flat faced throws and aero shaped throws. And then with and without oil-shedding coatings. Bearing coatings are discussed, as are clearances. Lots of neat (no BS) info on wet sump engines and cranks. Other articles in this issue include dry-sump systems, cam drives, and pushrod length/friction. If you are into tech and testing, I recommend picking up the issue.
