Strawman
I am hoping to do a museum delivery of my '08 SGT upon its completion then ship the car home to Florida. The SGT is an automatic vert with these mods: Paxton S/C CS Hood Baer Big Brakes 20" Silver Razors Gauges Lower grille Sequentials Billet Fluid Caps Obviously, I'd like to catch any potential problems at SAI before shipment. So, what items would be on your checklist upon delivery, including the initial inspection and test drive?

ShelbyPilot
I am hoping to do a museum delivery of my '08 SGT upon its completion then ship the car home to Florida. The SGT is an automatic vert with these mods: Paxton S/C CS Hood Baer Big Brakes 20" Silver Razors Gauges Lower grille Sequentials Billet Fluid Caps Obviously, I'd like to catch any potential problems at SAI before shipment. So, what items would be on your checklist upon delivery, including the initial inspection and test drive? I am not really sure what advice to give you other then check everything over very well. Check fit and finish on the CS hood in patricular. The Supercharger, I recommend taking to a dyno when you get home. Check how the gauge cluster fits up against the dash and feels secure. I haven't heard too many issues with the lower grill. If you got the driving lights you might want to make sure they are aimed and tight but you can do that home. I think the fluid cap issues were isolated and not on Shelby installed caps. Perhaps have somebody who is not as emotionally involved with you look over the car also. My wife who has no passion for my four wheel mistress spoted scratches on the trunk, which were buffed out and scuffs from a buffer on the hood which required it to be replaced. I never saw them until she pointed them out. There will be plenty of people around from the normal museum tour.
lr66
Also, check to make sure that you get all documentation. Somehow, my Shelby owners manual was left out. I called them when I got home and they overnighted it to me. Oh, and the test drive.....just be aware, there are some pretty serious speed bumps right outside the SAI parking lot. Be careful. Man, I am so jealous. That was one of my best days ever. Wish I could do it again! Mine has been snowed in in the garage for 12 weeks now, and the way the weaher looks, it will be another 6 or 8 before she can come back out. twobjshelbys
It's a new car. You should inspect it as you would any vehicle being driven from a new car lot. Look at paint, upholstery, fit and finish on everything. Simple things, like make sure the radio and CD player work. Shelby does the same kind of inspection that a new car dealer would do when the car rolls off the truck, and they won't be able to do anything about the base Ford stuff but you want it noted so when you take it to your dealer for adjustments.
