rightinaz
I am the prowd owner of CSM 08SGT0285. I love the car, but of course, I am having trouble with the dealership that I purchased the car from with after sale assistance. Perhaps someone can help me out with a couple of questions: 1. Isn't this car supposed to come with Floor Mats that say "Shelby GT", instead of the stock Mustang items? 2. I also did not get a production copy of the Shelby owners manual - instead, I received a copy machine version - not exactly what I would expect for a $40k car... I'm trying to build a complete record book of all of the details of this car so that if I ever sell it, I have all of the OEM items. It just pisses me off that I have to go through this kind of crap with a lousy local dealership.... Any suggestions on how to go about getting these issues resolved would be great. Mark in Arizona. Hate to hear that. You can probably get a manual through SAI and yes it is supposed to come with Shelby floor mats. Always, always, always get the dealer to agree to these type of things before you sign the papers. Salesmen are evil monsters and never let them think they have the upper hand in a sale. Dog the hell out of the car as much as possible no matter how bad you want it.
ngnear
First of all, Welcome. You are going to love this car. Now down to buisness.........WOW!...I can't believe what Your dealer did. This is absolutly wrong. Yes, You should have received floor mats with Shelby Logos and you should also have an original copy of the Shelby manual. I am not sure if Amy or Bud from SAI can provide any leverage or advise. First, I would go back to your dealer and tell them (demand) that they provide the appropriate mats and manual. Let them know that all the other owners of SGT's have these items. Good Luck and let us know how things turn out. Larry

Larry Agreed, the floor mats are standard, make sure they aren't in the trunk, and the manual is standard, that is weird, I wonder if someone removed these items. If you don';t have the items, have your dealer put in a claim. If he is not being responsible, go to another dealer and ask for help, also email Bud Budm@shelbyautos.com
TheKurgan
I bought mine from in Greenville, TX(I will say their name because everyone at that dealership did an outstanding job). The dealership did not have the Shelby sticker when I bought it, but they did agree to get another one from SAI which they did. Catch is that I kept the second set of keys to my mustang that I traded in until after I received the sticker. Maybe it's just me, but I don't tend to just take other people's word so I like to always level the playing field somehow. I bet if you showed up at the dealership and started talking to other customers about your experience that they would take care of your problem rather quickly. ngnear
rightinaz: You may not know this since your are new to all this, but AMYB (who replied above) is the CEO of Shelby Automotive Inc. Bud works with Amy and has been a great support for many of us on this web site with our cars and questions. We would not be here today if it was not for efforts and support of Amy, Bud and all the rest of the team at SAI. When Amy speaks, we all listen. (OK, well most of us listen/read)
nilkilla
When we first started receiving Shelby GTs, the Shelby mats were not included(they showed up with standard mustang GT charcoal mats). mats later started arriving in our parts department, to make up for the ones that didn't have them initially. then they started coming with the cars. Almost sounds like yours might have been an unwound car? were there miles on it when you purchased it? It's possible that whomever they originally sold it to(or their salesperson) kept the books and or mats, or possibly the mats were damaged beyond repair. He bought an 08..that shouldn't be an issue anymore?? Just sounds like the dealer might have "misplaced" them ? Follow Amy's instructions above and you will be in good shape
gofastguy
I do not see this as an issue for the president of SAI to handle. Apparently, Ford doesn't have zone reps (at least in the traditional sense) anymore, but there is a phone number for a Customer Relationship Center in the middle of the owner's manual from Ford. The people seem sincere and probably able to help on an issue like this...
LuLu
He bought an 08..that shouldn't be an issue anymore?? Just sounds like the dealer might have "misplaced" them ? Just as likely an underpaid porter at the dealership "appropriated" his Xmas bonus. Keep an eye on e-bay?
Reino2
Just as likely an underpaid porter at the dealership "appropriated" his Xmas bonus. Keep an eye on e-bay? E-bay is a good place to get mats. I acquired 2 sets for a rather cheap price. I now have 3 sets of the black Shelby mats. Call me greedy.
JeffIsHereToo
Just as likely an underpaid porter at the dealership "appropriated" his Xmas bonus. Keep an eye on e-bay? Funny a complete set of SGT & Mustang manuals were on ebay a few weeks ago. Someone at the dealership STOLE them. That's why you have a copied version! Neither SAI nor Ford would send a copier version. Which means someone at the dealership STOLE them, copied them, and placed the copy in the car. The floor mats, AGAIN someone STOLE them. If this is an 08' and they don't ship without. If they had shipped without, as it says on the Shelby sticker you get SHELBY floormats and had the dealer put in a claim thst is what they would get. If someone on the other hand STOLE them by swapping with a stock set, well that's what you would have. Call the center and complain and get a replacement set and go back to your dealer and have them file a warranty claim for a new set of mats...but keep the old ones for daily use! :-) Do you think I'm too harsh...you're right...I'm sure it's all just a BIG misunderstanding. TheKurgan
righnaz have you forgotten this post?(you only have 1). Also you did not state exactly how the dealership is giving you problems. Did they tell you they would not get replacements for you or what? Please reply to this post and describe your problem in more detail... Jeff that is not harsh at all. If the dealership told me no then I would be up there in their face
mrhugger
Agree witlh all. Dealership responsible. If I understand correctly the correct mats with the CS logo are not available for replacement. I bought some with CS signature through SAI and put my originals away for a later day. Go after the dealer it is their problem not yours, but first check in the trunk, some have found theirs. Steve

My car was very slightly used (490 miles on the odometer when I got in it for the first time) and I was really cheezed that it didn't come with the floormats. I had just figured that the previous owner decided to hang onto something as a keepsake when it was repossessed or whatever happened, turns out it was an ID 10T error and upon my first opening of the trunk a week later, lo and behold there were 2 pristine shelby floormats. /facepalm Of course my girlfriend pointed it out to me that I should check the trunk for them, that was highly embarrassing when I realized that I hadn't checked the one place that they were most likely to be if they weren't on the floor after so much bellyaching about it. lol
